For every Carroll there is a Suarez.

I agree that the January transfer window is not the best time to get players however in my opinion AW left his business too late in the summer which has contributed to Arsenal currently being out the top 4.

In all honesty i could be wrong and Arsenal might make top 4. However i feel it is very up in the air just now with regards to the top 4 and some additions could have helped. Especially when you think last year around this time Arsenal were in a title hunt and this year they are no where near and before you say City have spent loads etc. What about Man Utd? They lost a great keeper. Or what about Tottenham? They have added a solid keeper and midfielder and have progressed from it.

It just seems (to me) that Arsenal have regressed since last year and havn't spent all the money gained from the summer sales never mind net spend on the team.

  2. Many teams have had inconsistencies of this season but it would have helped Arsenal's quest had the team managed to recover some of those points lost at the start of the season. However in reaping only 7 points from the last 7 EPL matches, incidentally the same tally as from the first 7 matches of the season, we are really making the going difficult for ourselves. After Carling last February we took I believe 12 points from 11 matches. You're right Devlin, not to have learned from and improve on that form is not unlike having regressed. That is why those of us who highlight these ills are concerned as to where we are going. We might still make Top 4 but we are reliant on the few key players in our side who can help us get the 3 points from each match that we need and also on the ill fortune of our rivals. At the start of the last decade it was Utd and us. Then we began to slip to 3rd as Chelsea entered the fray and Liverpool have been menacing too. Now not only are City ahead but also Spurs. Spurs are 13 points ahead of us although we have one game in hand but they are strong this year. In the 15 /16 games that remain on the calendar I cannot see us overcoming the deficit to Spurs so Chelsea is the club we need to overtake. How easy that will be is anyone's guess.

Firstly Manchester United's footballing side make more money than Arsenal's so I think you are getting a little mixed up. Man U's parent company are in debt, not the club itself. Turnover is not an indication of spending power either, you may have high turnover but high outgoings leading to low profit.

PISKIE continually claims Gazidis is doing a great job, I've never asked why but I think this is a good time to ask that question.

OF course there are players available, but Wenger continually states he does not want to hinder the progress of his kids <doh>

We've needed certain players for an age and only now have we begun to address it. Wenger knew Fabregas was leaving and did nothing to secure the services of a creative e midfielder. It wouldn't have been so bad if Wenger played Wilshere as an attacking midfielder, but he didn't, Wilshere came out in public saying the boss has asked him to show discipline in sitting back. WTF !!! So our creativity is left to Walcott who is pants, Gervinho who is finding his feet but can't shoot and RVP - who is the last person we want dropping deep to provide ammunition - when he is the only person who can regularly score goals.

    Total F' up !

  8. Wenger constantly playing footballers out of position is something I find strange. It seems and please let me know if I'm wrong, that the more his scheme fails, the more determined he is to make it work. It has been said that he plans out his strategies and tactics in training and sticks with them which leads us to not having a plan B. The man is so inflexible it appears to me that I have really had quite enough. Some folk here may not appreciate this but I was a Wenger man until our meltdown last spring. I was willing to wait in October for him to come good again but now I believe he should make way for someone else. The longer he stays the more opportunities we miss.

I'm just interested where he says he'd prefer the club to be run the way it is than win trophies.

I'd rather think he just likes posting to the gallery rather like yourself <ok>
Have you remembered about Wrexham in 1992 yet ? <whistle>

  12. Well, we all like to associate with friends y'know. <ok>

Nope. No memory of that friend Cym.

Wasn't able to follow much of footie in those days as I mentioned. Life was a tad too hectic. Recall that dark evening in Rotherham sometime in 78 or 79 and remember a guy called Robson though. Some people call him Houston <laugh>

Last transfer window was a cock up. I don't think Wenger would tell you different. Cant get excited about this January one, they are more a media circus than anything and hardly anyone moved.
