Doubt if WBA will let him come back Wooperts, due to the financial situation that's why they didn't let mattock come back here.
Pompey have withdrawn Adam Webster from the England Under 17 squad. Looks like he will be needed at F.P. in the not too distant future. Can see Sam Magri also being given a place in the squad.
herman and williams i think are official. although there seems to be doubt as to the time on the williams deal can't see it myself though. won't count my chickens till the morning though.
http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Williams-Joins-Fulham-3075.aspx its official well done lads!!
Ryan Williams left. 3 bids in for Pearce (apparently not from Ipswich) all turned down. Bid/s in for Henderson - he wasn't interested. Talk of interest for Ward but nothing concrete. Also rumour about Celtic & Rangers interest in Futacs - no foundations to the rumours though. Only Ryan Williams has gone - to Fulham.
Shame we couldn't persuade Fulham to loan him back to us until the end of the season - after all, they have a big enough squad of players, unlike us.
ward and henderson was supposedly a done deal as far as the clubs were concerned but the wage demands were said to be extreme lol very proud of the players commitment tonight.
I posted on the other thread Wooperts that apparently this deal was done through an Admin Andy appointed agent. He did not do very well for us - £400k hhhhmmmmm
I just don't get this at all, I really don't. Whilst I can understand you being pleased that you have not sold your best players, where does that leave you? My understanding is that your accounts have been frozen and therefore the players are not going to get paid. Some of them are on terms that are far too generous for the championship, given their ability. Without any new funds from a new owner who would have to stump up millions of pounds to buy a club with no assets and significant liabilities how will you avoid being wound up? Once the window has closed you will not be able to sell the players or pay them. I can understand them hanging on to their very lucrative contracts in the belief that somebody may buy the club and honour them, but what will they do if they have not been paid for a few months? Will they be able to say that the club is in breach of contract and simply walk as free agents? Maybe this is why they don't want to leave! I fear for you, I really do, and it gives me no satisfaction at all to say it.
I was watching an interview with Liam Lawrence on Sky, online, he was in his car driving out of the training ground. The interview was about the wages not being paid, and there was just something wrong with his body language - and now I know what it was. His words and his behaviour were completely at odds. He didn't seem even slightly concerned about the situation and although saying it was worrying he was completely unworried. None of this is adding up. None of the players decided to go today, Appy wanted to keep them all together. DL was turning down bids left right and centre. I think they are aware of an awful lot more than any of them are letting on - which is good - but if I am right, then I too am feeling a lot less worried. If things were really as bad as they seem then they would have done something about leaving.
Totally agree 3rd eye I would have thought if things were that desperate, we would have sold enough to raise the £1.6 million at least for the tax man. Maybe there is something in the pipeline. Here's hoping.
I think there is something going on at FP - like games within games. David Lampitt had a senior role at the FA before he came to us (Head of Compliance or something similar) - a very young CEO, in his first role as CEO, and he wasn't ousted by Chanrai - this may sound a bit conspiracy theorist, but I read, a couple of years ago that there was a club under the protection of the FA - I think DL was put into Pompey. I may be adding 2+2 and getting 4.5, but maybe not. We need a cash injection but there was no fire-sale, none of the players were put up for transfer and only Herman + now Williams, has left, but Herman wasn't in Appy's plans, we all know that. I think DL is putting the screws on Chanrai. He either lowers the asking price to a sensible level, he puts in the required cash or we go into liquidation and he gets sod all. He owns FP but it has a covenant over the land, if he challenges that it will cost him a fortune and it isn't worth the amount he wants back. What do you think?
Oh, and if we go into liquidation then the football creditors rule will be there somewhere, he may have to pay off the players as well.
