Either way it's the Tottenham game I'm worried about. Not the mackems... Assuming Tiote is back by then.

Hmm, likely outcome maybe be a reduced ban...I'd appeal as long as Brighton stand United with us!

IMO, I thought he was pushing El Abd off him using his foot rather than an actual kick. The fact that he connected with his face was a complete accident to me. El Abd was falling on top off him after blatantly fouling him so obviously cabaye 'lashed out' due to frustration still. I can't see this vein rescinded.

Appeal it to ****. With Brighton in support there is no way they can impose an additional game for a frivelous appeal.

You wouldn't have thought so, if Brighton are supporting it, it should get overturned but I don't think it will.

#brighton have been one of the clubs in for James Tavernier on loan #nufc

Maybe Brighton are trying to curry favour with us in helping to get Cabaye off his ban, so we give them 1st dibs on Tavernier? lol

We've done so much business with Brighton in the last year with Kazenga and Harper anyway, maybe they're just interested in keeping a good business relationship.

Well worth an appeal. Although I'm 100% he kicked him on purpose, I think there is reasonable doubt, particularly when you take the incident out of context. They'll look at it as a seperate entity rather than what might have led Cabaye to do such a thing. He can just say he was protecting himself or it was just a tangle of legs. I think he will get off with it because the evidence is flakey. But the FA rarely back down so there are no guarantees. The problem will be that an appeal will almost certainly be viewed as frivolous if lodged and unsuccessful as he either meant it or he didn't. If they decide he did then any appeal is not going to get a favourable view, it'll be a cut and dried situation as far as they are concerned.

Needs a loan and we need to use this to our advantage. Well played our board.

It has been discussed already in other threads but I firmly do not believe he took aim when he kicked out. He just happened to make contact with the guys face when in actual fact he could have not made contact at all. He hasn't tried to 'do him'.

I dont see a frivoulous appeal in that to be honest so I would appeal without the worry of an additional 1 game ban.

As someone has already said, this is about business relations only. Unfortunately the FA will know this also. Brighton have nothing to lose in doing this. I do feel the kick was intentional but at the same time Cabaye's leg was already stretched when the players face fell onto it. So taking that into account and how fast it happened I think there is always going to be an element of doubt. Id love to see the FA rescind it but I cant see them willing to make fools of themselves seeing as it was entirely their decision as no card was given for the incident at the time. It was a foul on Cabaye and had play been stopped as it should have been, the issue would never have come into play. Poor refereeing poor commentary team and poor organisation.

I just hope he doesn't miss the derby.

Tiote against Stevenage. Their player even came out and said he didn't touch him and got the ball, FA banned him anyway.

    Not so confident myself.
