I have a lot of newcastle mates (I am the only mackem) so there is always banter going on and I do watch a fair bit of Newcastle when I'm round the pub, anyone who knows me will will know that I won't just say x is better than y because of the fact they play for sunderland and y plays for newcastle.

Personally I think Meyler is overrated big style, it seems the longer a player is out they suddenly become fantastic, yes Meyler looked canny when he first broke into the side before he suffered his first major injury against Man United but he is 6th choice CM for us behind Catts, Vaughan, Colback, Gardner and Richardson and that says it all really, personally he should go out onloan and if a good cm becomes available he should be moved on to make room. Tiote is far the better player.

Yes you could probably need a couple of those instead of your piss flaps.

You say ben arfa is better, admittedly the couple of times ive seen him (which is about all he has played) he has looked okay with the moment of brilliance

HOWEVER, sessegnon does it week in week out AND arguably has been very consistent with his performances

Technical ability I believe he is also far better than ben arfa HOWEVER ben arfa I think has a better footballing brain and can make decisions very quickly which is sessegnons downfall

The best 11 players don't always make the best team mate.

Pardew loves playing 4-4-2, so the only place HBA was going to play was the right wing, and we have different types of right wingers, and it all depends on Pardews tactics for the game, as to whether we played Ben Arfa or not.

Questioning his quality because he didn't start every game as soon as he was fit is quite silly really.

And Guthrie is a great player to have in your team. He can cover a defensive midfielder and a creative one as he possesses good creative, attacking and defensive qualities.

He's a great squad player and we're all hoping he'll sign a new deal.

Colo, Cabaye, Tiote, Ben Arfa & Ba.

They can keep the rest, ta very muchly.

I do think Krul is superb, but I thing Mig will get very close to him.

It's very fair to say Ben Arfa has done nothing consistently yet, but as someone who watched him many times at Lyon & Marseille, I credit him, he's phenomenal when he's on it.

That's wrong IMO. Ben Arfa's passing and creativity is better than Sessegnons IMO, and Ben Arfa is far more consistent when shooting on goal.

Dribbling and skill, I wouldn't separate them on that, however Ben Arfa is still settling at this level, and sometimes forgets that he can't have too much time on the ball.

People only have to look back at his goals to see Ben Arfa's threat really.

Same scenario mate, my mates are 90% mags hence me being pressganged into watching plenty toon games! However im sorry but I could accept an argument regarding any of the other players being better than Myler (tho not fully agreeing with it) but Richardson a better CM than Myler? Really?

It depends on your meaning of consistency. Do you mean do it every game? Or most games?

Ben Arfa has scored quite consistently when he's start to be fair to him.

7 PL starts (Not including his start vs City last year as he played only 2 minutes before getting injured) and 3 goals and has set up loads of great chances and gotten a few assists as well.

I mean he hasn't been in the team for a run and kept up and proved he can consistently hack it.

I know he's got mitigating circumstances, but he needs to play, on form, for 10-15 consecutive games.

    His ability is unquestionable.

Take your situation and flip it, I'm the only Geordie out of a group of five, the rest Mackems. Derby days are usually a good laugh (usually) but I dread them with a passion, got a feeling your next eventual victory over us will be one I'll nevr live down purely for how much I've bragged! I feel like I've watched more S'land games than out else this season.

As for Sess vs Ben Arfa question - tough one but AT THE MINUTE Sessegnon would slip into our team no problem, I'd have him over Ben Arfa anyday. I've watched him a-lot (as mentioned) and he seems better than Ben Arfa in most areas presently. It'll be interesting when Ben Arfa finally gets up to speed to see who the better player is but surely atm there's no question, Ben Arfa just drifts in and out too much for me, Sessegnon is always everywhere getting involved. Ben Arfa may be the technically better footballer but Sessegnon works harder for the team and hence Sunderland benefit from it. Ben Arfa may have a couple of moments of magic but the bloke just isn't a team player, which annoys the hell out of me.

Other than that I'd take McClean (great prospect that lad - strong, quick, decent in the air and a belting left foot) and probably Larsson. Other than that though I'd say our team is massively superior in every department.

Pardew likes to play in a certain way, and because of that Ben Arfa hasn't been getting the amount of starts we though he would. That and Ben Arfa has a little bit of an ego, and Pardew has been hard on him and reminding him who's the boss. The best players don't always make the best team.

Ben Arfa needed to learn his place, and our club is really cracking down on players and making sure we don't have any primma donnas.

The main thing that lets Ben Arfa down is he tries too hard, instead of just being like Sess and knowing when you should just pass it, Ben Arfa likes to over do it, and sometimes it works out for him and he scores or creates something amazing, but a lot of the time he just gets tackled after beating a few players.

I think we need a left winger, left back and a centre half to be a complete team. Looking at Sunderland's squad, that means I would only take Sessegnon (no thanks to Richardson, O'Shea or Brown). Buying anyone else would just be buying for the sake of it.
