Like a person who has been betrayed once too often by a friend, the trust of QPR fans is hard to earn. Tony Fernandes and Amit Bhatia are well on the road of their pledge to build QPR from the bottom upwards by bringing in a raft of very decent players that are clearly a step or two up from the current squad. We are not quite there yet. Incredibly it does look like we are actually going to get a striker of sorts and some of us are mad enough to believe that striker will be of a very high quality indeed. Then there is the matter of the training ground, new stadium etc. There is still a way to go So, time to say well done to them and get behind the team as we have never done before. You Rss! PS - assuming we stay up and the influx of good players continues, please can we not moan about ST proces next season?!!
I agree . Also i know we have 14 hrs left in the transfer window but i do believe we have made the signings for positions that we all craved. We have signed a forward from Lazio, a left back from AC milan , a centre back from Man city and an international holding midfielder. These were the four positions we have craved for coverage and the board/hughes have delivered. Anymore signings today will be a bonus for me, we have strenghtened the team where we needed to be strengthened. Thanks TF , Amit and Sparky.
It is just the time factor that is the problem. 16 games to go and we need to win 6 for sure safety or 5 + draws. I don't think 4 wins will be enough unless we then draw 6 of the remaining 12 - not impossible but seems less likely. Over the last few months, there are have been many debates about which games were 'must wins' and which were not. That debate is over now. All the games against teams in the lower third of the table are now must wins without any question at all. The new signings are fantastic but I know that Hughes and Co. will not have lost sight of the focus - premiership survival. Some may remember an interview in 4:4:2 magazine in which Fernandes claims that there is a plan B if we are relegated this season. I presume, given the signings, that plan B is to do a Newcastle and come straight back as champions rather than Blackpool who may make the play offs. As ever, we 'enjoy' the ride but we really should enjoy today because, whatever the future brings, today is an exciting and fun filled day for QPR fans.
Totally agree mate!! We all have our moans about tactics, players etc but there has not been a more exciting time to be a Rangers fan for donkeys years!! Just the transfer window makes my pulse race
Perspective. This time last year we signed Rob Hulse. 1 year on we're signing Cisse! Says it all really.
TF, AB (and the Mittals behind him) are the best thing to have happened to QPR since the late, great Jim Gregory bought our club in the 60s. We should take every opportunity to inflate their egos and let them know they are appreciated. The only down side is that TF believes there is money to be made in return for his investment and the odds are that isn't true (if it were, even at the level of the wider corporate image and cross-selling opportunities, then Branson would still own Palace for example). So he will likely be disappointed but it is already clear that both of them have the same passion of true fans and, along with a large wallet, is all you can really ask of good owners. We are QPR.
