For a bit of fun on deadline day seeing as its likely to be anything but fun in reality i thought it would be interesting to see what everyones ideal moves would be if we could only transfer between our sides.

you must say who you'd take and why you would like to take them.

    I'll start....

Sessengnon - we could really do with his guile in the final third at the moment he's exciting and would walk into our team at present even over ben arfa at present (my opinion!!)

Mclean - even though he strikes me as being like avery enthusiastic and stupid dog he obvioulsy is like a bulldozer and could be very useful and provide real drive to the side. he could turn out to be a flash in the pan but i'd take him at the minute.

Sessegnon - Do Not Need. Ben Arfa is better.

Mclean - A good player, but definitely has a lot to learn.

I agree with sessengnon, as he's by far and away their best player, and would add a lot of creativety to the side.

I'd also take Seb larson, i know most on here hate him, but i think he's quality, got a great cross on him, which Newcastle are missing at the moment, and is also very good at set pieces.

Other than that, no one else. I think our team is better in every department, i guess i'd take some of their players as squad players, but thats about it really.

IMO sessegnon is currently performing better and is more influential to their side than Ben arfa is to ours. I rate Ben arfa of a few years back as better but he's not hit those heights for us really yet this season.

as much as i think seb is decent i don't think he's any better than raylor and we don't use him to his strengths so i see no reason why we'd use seb to his either. dead ball ability and crossing there is very little between them IMO.

I disagree, seb larson has a much more useful cross and he scores a lot more free kicks than Raylor. Raylor scores the extraordinary, but that's very rare. Seb larson can also get past players, has much better positining as well as not being a bad finisher or passer.

Sess is more vital to Sunderland, but Ben Arfa is better. Produces a much better final ball in most of his games.

Ben Arfa nearly always looks like scoring goals and can tear apart any defence.

actually i totally overlooked the forgotten man. i'd take Frazier Campbell too. I reckon he'd be a great addition to our forward options. two big lads, one trickster in ben arfa and one truly pacey young prosepct in addition to cisse, not saying he would be a tarter every week but he'd be a welcome addition to the squad.

I would take sessegnon, larsson and mclean....

easily play larsson over obertan but only have him for a squad player , sessegnon over best, ameobi and loven...and mclean looks good but too young at the moment....

so only sessegnon would of got a start but now with cisse he prob wouldnt

How can you be sure he can tear apart any defence when hes barely played?

However getting back to the OP id take Colo, Cabaye, Tiote and Ba in a multi player swap deal for Elmo. Deal?

I'd definetly take Sessegnon - bit of a classy player.

Larsson would be a good signing, not 100% sure if he'd get in the starting 11 when everyone fit, but would be a good option.

O'Shea would also be a decent defensive signing.

Also, Wickham and McLean are 2 prospects who would be good for the future.

They can take their pick from Ranger, Perch, Ameobi, Gosling

Yet another top quality post from Tash. A bit like Danny Guthrie being a "great" midfielder. Ahmed El-Mohammedy nearly looks like he's going to beat a footballer and put in a brilliant cross but doesn't mean he actually does it. If Ben Arfa is so great then why is he usually on the bench and Pardew doesn't trust him? I'll admit you've got a lot of good players at the minute but I keep hearing about how great Ben Arfa is then he only plays when you've got a few players out injured or in Africa.

As for taking players from the Mags, I'll take Krul, Collocini, Cabaye and Demba the sheep.

Following on from the "nearly" post. I get this from a Mag mate a few years ago...

Sky news have just reported that Freddie Shepherd gave a statement to the
stock exchange this morning at 9.18 am regarding Newcastle Utd PLC nearly
signing David Beckham, Dirk Kuyt, Tevez and Mark Viduka.

The statement was greeted with astonishment and then a deathly hush
descended on the floor as the fat Geordie Chairman proudly announced the
shock transfers who he nearly signed for the club. Newcastle Utd shares
rocketed to 1.81 on hearing the news of these near signings.

Jose Mourinho was quick to reply on Sky Sports News about the statement. He
said "How can Chelsea complete with Newcastle on these terms, they are
nearly buying all the top players, I see reports on TV that they nearly
signed David Beckham and then only 24 hours later Fat Freddy tells the stock
exchange that they nearly bought Dirk Kuyt in the summer, It is just
    spoiling game".

Sir Alex Ferguson was also quick to comment "This is ridiculous, Newcastle
are once again nearly signing all the top players available, they nearly
signed Wayne Rooney and they nearly signed Ronaldo. The whole thing needs
sorting out or else Newcastle Utd's nearly signing players policy will ruin
    our beautiful game".

A spokesman from Newcastle UTD PLC said these words in retaliation. "I have
heard Jose Mourinhos and Alex Fergusons comments, and just because we are
actively nearly signing the top players in the world does not mean that we
are spoiling the game, we are just raising the standards of nearly signing
players; players of the calibre of Rooney, Ronaldinho, Zidane and Ronaldo
    were also nearly signed".

Outside St James park a crowd of 4 gathered on hearing the shock news, one
fan called Keegan Beardsley who had just paid 33 for a shirt worth 2.50,
and had the words "Nearly Beckham" proudly displayed on the back, had this
to say via an interpreter (no one could understand him) "Arl reet, dee yee
smurk tarbs? Wor gannin pleeces this cloob like...wor nerrly gannin fer
Christiano Ronaldo next week an arl like!"

Fat Freddy has since stated that, "This clubs policy for nearly signing
players will continue for the forseeable future. We see no reason to bow to
the demands of other clubs and will scour the earth for players who will
come close to joining us". "We must keep our fans happy, and what better way
than for them to see world class players almost joining Newcastle Utd, it
keeps them all coming back in their droves, and shirt sales are continuing
to rocket due mainly to the talent we nearly succeeded in getting in".
