Think I've sussed out what's happening here.

    - Ibe - gone for an undisclosed fee.
    - Harris - gone for an undisclosed fee.
    - Rumours have it that Beavon is next, along with some other players.
    - Steve Hayes not seen at WWFC for a very long time (OK he was at Brentford, he possibly lives in West London I'd guess).

OK, so Ibe and Harris were always going to go. They were young stars and unfortunately that's the way the game is going. Pretty awful but that's not what this post is about.
Taking all those things separately, you could excuse them. However, put it all together and add to the fact that Hayes is 'loaning' money to Wycombe in the form of loan notes, that he probably will want back at some point, and you get your answer.

Since the White Elephant Stadium idea was blown into the water, Hayes is looking for a get out. I think he's going to sell all our best players for 'undisclosed' fees (so we will never actually know how much he has taken) and use the funds from this to repay his loan notes. I think they call it asset-stripping in business.

It's a bit like a leech or a parasite, sucking its host dry, before it gets too f(cking fat and falls off.

And that's what Hayes needs to do now, is fall off. He's going to bleed us dry. A very, very dark and sad day for WWFC.

Don't be surprised if Beavan goes tomorrow (despite Waddock's quoted comments in the BFP). I heard a couple of weeks ago that a deal had been done with Doncaster for £400k - now that they have sold Billy Sharp to Southampton it's going to be a nervous last day of the transfer window for us!

Totally agree with the 'asset stripping' comment above - other than Bull don't think that we have anyone that we now have in our squad who would raise more than two bob.

Unfortunately that nasty term "asset stripping" is what appears to be happening. Obviously there is no evidence to support that thinking but the non existence of anything to suggest otherwise doesn't provide any comfort. If Beavon goes I think that will just about sway the ultimate optimist that something not very nice is inevitable. And of course Hayes will point to the fans and blame them/us. All we have is hope and it is but a rapidly dwindling glimmer of hope.
