Yet he has a worse scoring record than Bothroyd this season and has played for a better team.

1 in 17 this season is though. Ive read somewhere that its a loan and that would be ok, I just dont want another Vine, Cook, Rowlands SWP situation where we will have someone so old, useless and overpaid that no one will take them off our hands.

We should be aspiring to better than not terrible.

Lazio play one up front (Klose), Cisse has been utilised on the wing/right midfield, as was 90% of his games for Liverpool. He's not a winger, he's a finisher and need to be played up front to get the best out of him. His record at S'land is good, 10 goals in 35 games. And the feedback from their fans sounds better than if you ask a QPR fan what he thinks of Les Ferdinand!
We should be glad Lazio has played him out of position or else we would not come near signing him imo.

Well if you can find a better striker in the next day and a bit who would come to us than him then you're a better man than me.

    Defoe, of course;)

Cisse sounds great to me - hope we can get him signed and through all the International formalities in time!

Exactly!! All these people moaning about certain players coming in never seem to be able to suggest alternatives!

He's been played on the wing this season!! What was his service like? Did he get many chances? Do you know?

Exactly Watford. Just a few hours to go and our biggest problem is not resolved. The rest of the investment will be wasted unless we have a bigger threat up front. Cisse would be a worthwhile risk if on a loan or short term contract.

Ok here's that word again, perspective.

We currently have a forward line of Helguson, Hulse, DJ Campbell, Bothroyd, Agyemang, Vine, Smith, Hewitt, Mackie and Macheda (10 forwards!). We're not talking world beaters here, can we agree on this? Ok.
Up until the last week of august the forwards we were used to be linked with were the likes of Geoff Horsfield, Ched Evans, Marlon King etc., the rest I've suppressed over the years.
We are QPR, we are two point off relegation, first season in the Premier League for 15 years. Who exactly should we be getting if we turn our nose up on someone with Cisse's records and pedigree? He's 30 now, regarded as the peak age for a striker, It's not like we sign someone looking for one last payday is it?

I accept someone being sceptical, but being sceptical just for the sake of being sceptical is were I draw the line.

Would love to see Cisse upfront with Olivier Giroud, they'd scare the hell out of most PL defences...

Absolutely mate. No one ever seems to give you an answer though! Some people just don't seem to ever be pleased.

Cheers Col. It's just that I'm desperate for an exciting striker, or any striker to be honest. Cisse, Giroud, Barrios, my first impression of all is that they are out of our league. Then it's Rodallega, I really don't care cause they're all head and shoulders above what we currently have.

Here's a good report on Cisse. Some negative, some positive, but we won't attract anything better where we are now imo.

Very good read, although I worry about the tweeting. I can see Barton congratulating him for scoring (via twitter), and Cisse thanking him (again, via twitter) for the assist.

Of course we won't. Some people will just refuse to be happy with a signing.
