In recent games we have uncovered a great goal threat when forward runners get running ahead of Carroll. Lets go for it in this game!

    ----------------Reina-----------------
    -Kelly---Skrtel----Agger--Enrique-
    ----Gerrard--Spearing--Adam-----
    -Kuyt----------------------Bellamy-
    ----------------Carroll---------------

I have to say, that has been one of his positives in the last few games. Despite the dire performance vs Bolton...Carroll did set up Bellamy for the goal with the header and he did it a couple of other times as well. Same for Kuyt's goal.

If he does that and sets up another 10 goals this season by doing that then I don't give a **** if he doesn't score...would be a bonus though. <ok>

I have to say that wolves have played their heart sout the past few weeks and gotten little luck so we really need to bring a good game to thier gorund to get any result.

I am not sure what to go do.

    1. RB, i thought kelly didn't do that well v utd honestly, his positioning at times let him down. conversely jonhson has looked tired and leggy too so kenny was right to rest him... I expect johnson to return but i want to see him showing high energy.

    2. The rest of the defense picks itself

    3. midfield. i expct a 5 in midfield but can't think which 5... first kuyt should play RW but may start up top on his own which is a bad call IMO. downing could play wide right either.... gerrard, henderson are shoe ins though... Bellamy must start wide left or wide right.... then its a question of whether adam plays.

    4. attack.. carroll reward for effort? bench or another start? his last chance before suarez takes this slot.

I think kenny could do anyhting.... I can't guess but if i were him i'd be thinking

    Reina
    johnson Skertl Agger Enrique
    Bellamy Gerrard Henderson Adam Downing
    Carroll

I'd be torn between playing kuyt after he scored and put in some effort but the question is which to drop, bellamy or adam?

4-4-2 would drop adam and push bellamy forward
4-5-1 would suggest either carroll or bellamy to be benched at start for kuyt.

Its a quandry. I hope the boss picks a strong attacking team but i think 4-5-1 is where we are at with henderson and gerrard and adam.... i'd not trust them to play 4-4-2

    Luis' last game suspension!!!

I expect to see us go with our usual away formation 4-2-3-1 and I hope that Andy is the 1.

    -------------Reina-------------
    Johnson--Skrtel--Agger--Enrique
    -------Spearing--Adam---------
    Bellamy-----Gerrard-----Downing
    -------------Carroll-------------

    Bench
Doni, Kelly, Hendo, Shelvey, Kuyt, Maxi, Carragher

There are some problems with this formation - Gerrard was looking decidedly 'leggy' at the end against United, and I'm not sure just how fit Bellamy is at the moment. Spearing should be fit and ready to roll.

We could resolve this by a jig-about, drop Gerrard and Bellamy to the bench (Shelvey in for Gerrard, Hendo for Bellamy) . The reduction in penetration (the loss of Bellamy) would need to be replaced by committed fullback running to provide from the wings, and Henderson and Shelvey making late runs into the box to support Carroll when the ball comes in (and obviously Downing in at the back stick when its coming in from the right...). If we don't have at least three bodies in the area when the ball is coming in, its setting Andy up to fail on his own...

I think perosnally its time to go 4-4-2 again.

not sure how we'll do it but we need to get bellamy coming on for carroll or vice versa when playing with suarez.

Downing gerrard kuyt and hendo in midifled i think... gerrard just needs to sit and take the abll off skertl and pass it.

Our best asset is actually our full backs, we have two genuinely attacking full backs and so we must get them involved. Adam won't sit... he just won't do it so on the bench with him, hendo will run all day and work for the team, kuyt is picking up a little fitness so he can help johnson and will hold station o nthe right... Tell downing to go do the same or be dropped.

It aint great but its the best we can do.

    -------------Reina-------------
    Johnson--Skrtel--Agger--Enrique
    Kuyt--Henderson--Gerrard--Downing
    ------Bellamy/Carroll--Suarez----

We can always stick adam on for gerrard when the big man gets tired, or drop downing and stich bellamy over there with gerrard supporting suarez.

Until lucas is back i don't see us doing much better. To be frank the whole thing falls apart in the quality form the wings, right in particular and the midfield is not good.

all in all i'd sign a right winger, midfielder and at least one striker this summer.
