In that League One season he was a brick wall. But in the championship I felt he wasn't anywhere near as good. He gave the ball away a lot and was often beaten in the air. This is his level, he won't be a premier league player.
depends, the overline between a premier league lower player and championship top players is quite a large. For example, is someone like Hobbs really worse than someone like Caldwell or Ayala? He could make it im sure, look at his age, but not the big time.
Wes Morgan has got a medical this morning and should be announced as a Leicester player if all goes well this morning We have upped our bid to 750K for Ben Marshall aswell
Hobbs - judging him right now I'd agree - but he is still young and has time to develop - lest we forget in these times of quick judgement, a certain Matt Elliott escaped the notice of a host of clubs for many years, but with maturity he stood out at the level he was playing at and went on, not only to play in the top league, but also to gain international recognition..
I think Jack Hobbs will make a prem defender one day. When he played at the back with Wayne Brown he was rock solid. And then Paulo Sousa messed him up a little. He looked better when we got Curtis Davies in but from Jan we got Bamba and Mee in and Hobbs was then benched and loaned out I think we shouldnt of get rid when we did but i dont think he would be good enough to get the shirt off Mills or Bamba. And now with St. Ledger staking a claim and Wes Morgan coming in Hobbs unless on his top form like he was when we reached the play offs, he may struggle to make the bench now
Is it just me who feels that this postiton is one of our strongest, and there are other positions that are far more important atm?
Nigel Pearson is doing it right, buying well established Championship players, Sven was a joke and has always been over rated only reason he won stuff with Lazio was becuase he had a class team handed to him.
I certainly agree. NP is a no nonsense type of mananger and knows that when Leicester don’t concede we win matches. Sven was an appointment for marketing purposes for sure but I don’t think anyone can argue that getting behind the Swedish man whore was the incorrect thing to do. I think that knowledge of the CCC is one of the most important qualities for getting promoted.
I agree with you. The best way is to get about 7 or 8 quality CHAMPIONSHIP players in your team who have the ability to play in the prem and then 2 or 3 prem quality like Yakubu, Bruma, Van Aanholt, Fernandes etc. Not a team full of them Even Man U have Fletcher, Evans, Smalling, Evans etc in their team. They could easily go out and get better players but they are what keeps the team together and makes it work. Real Madrid when they had Zidane, Figo, Beckham, Raul, Casilias, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo. They was the best team in the world on paper by far but as a team they just didnt work
If you cant win the match, dont lose it Sven never set out like that but Nigel will. Who cares if people call it boring but that what makes successful teams
Agreed. Look at Barcelona. Pedro, Busquets, Macherano, Keita and Abidal are not world class. But when you fill the gaps with Messi, Alves, Iniesta, Xavi, Villa, Valdes and the like then you have a fantastic side working hard with each other.
Dont get too comfortable with Snoddy. Word has it that every time Ken Bates looks at him he see's a corporate gym at Elland road insead with thousands of fans chanting his name in support!
