About time we moved on from saturdays performance and look forward to getting back to the important matter of the league! What would be peoples starting XIs against donny? As i said on another thread, i would start adebola but fear i may well be in the minority on that one! This would be my team:

    Mannone
    Rosenior Hobbs Chester Dawson
    Evans McKenna
    Stewart Koren Fryatt/Simpson
    Adebola

Thought fryatt actually played well when out wide against west ham at home so i would try him out there again and see how he does. Wouldnt mind brady, simpson or mclean playing out there instead though.

a new striker. (Fryatt, at the moment, is a total embarrassment to the shirt).

If we don't get a new striker in, would use King until he tires, then McLean.
Fryatt is being picked on sentiment only, total lack of effort and interest against Crawley.

How many people said that the first half against west ham was the best they had seen us play in a long time? And who started up front in that match? I for one dont think that is a coincidence. And to be quite honest, i dont think any of our other strikers deserve to lead the line the way they have been playing recently

    Mannone
    Rosenior, Hobbs, Chester, Dawson
    Evans, Mckenna
    Stewart, Koren, Brady
    Mclean

Bench - Carson, Dudgeon, King, Simpson, Fryatt

Agree with John, dropping Fryatt to the bench may give him a good kick up the Jackson and pull his weight when playing and start scoring goals again. Need a good performance and result on Tuesday to put yesterday's result behind us.

Harsh on Fryatt in my eyes, he's obviously not a striker who likes playing up on his own; look at this time with Leicester, ALWAYS played off someone bigger e.g. Howard; which is echoed by the Leicester fan I know.

My team for Tuesday would be.

    Mannone
    Rosenior, Hobbs, Chester, Dudgeon
    Evans, McKenna
    Brady, Koren, Simpson
    Adebola.
Bench: Carson, Cooper, Stewart, Fryatt, McLean.

At least let's go for it!

Was just about to say I agree, until I read the part about Adebola. If you rate him more than Mc Lean than you have to think again

I can 100% say Adebola will not even be the squad let alone on the pitch (unless of course every other striker comes down with a sickness bug and physically cannot play).

I also wouldn't bet on Cam starting.

Probably usual back 4 and 2 holding midfielders, then I reckon it will Brady, Koren, McLean and Fryatt but maybe King instead on Fryatt depending how match fit they think he is.

Yes but that was only when they actually used him as a targetman, when we started to keep it on the deck the West Ham defence had him in their pocket, they outpaced him everytime.

I dont for one second expect adebola to be anywhere near the team but im just saying that i would start him. Im just getting quite sick of the same old performances week in week out hoping for a clean sheet and a 1-0 win.

After Saturday; I don't think King is the answer. Reminds me a lot of David Amoo, they said how great he was and then turned out to be not all that good. Simpson HAS to go ahead of King.

Bit harsh to judge him on one game, a game in which the whole team was truly awful, when he is still very short of match fitness. Time will tell I guess, but again I can safely say that he currently is wayyyyyy ahead of Simpson in NB's plans.

Normally I'd agree; but it does beg the question, why on earth have we signed someone who's not match fit, who's inexperienced and yesterday just didn't show me enough to say "yes this lad should be in the team". The honeymoon period for Barmby for me is over; I want to see my club get promotion and we need the best 16 players out there; King right now is not one of them. At least Simpson has experience in big games, look at Sheffield Utd away last year? As good as I think Matty Fryatt is, I still think it's time he was booted up his back side, dropped, and have Simpson and Mclean/Adebola upfront.

I said before he arrived he isn't a goalscorer. He's more akin to McLean, albeit quicker. I don't understand why, when our last 6 league results have been 1-0, we don't go in for another GOALSCORING striker. Nobody can say a striker isn't going to fit into our style of play, because our style of play is creating chances that aren't finding the net. Id consider adebola gone and McLean out wide, which leaves fryatt,
king and Cullen. There are strikers out there. Francisco sandaza at st johnstone, Craig Davies, matt Tubbs, Liam Hearn, Erik huseklepp at Portsmouth (they're broke, so why not go for a cheeky bid) all bar Tubbs would be available for less than what we paid for fryatt.

Brady won't be playing, as well according to Cameron Stewart (No it wasn't the car park), Brady could not see out of his left eye and had concussion after the first half, so highly doubt he will play.

Stewart said he expected to be back in the side, so not sure what you have heard premier tiger?

Stewart was sat directly behind me and we had a brief chat about things if anyone doubts my sincerity.

    -----------Mannone-----------
    Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dawson
    ------McKenna - Evans--------
    -Stewart----Koren------Brady-
    ------------Mclean------------

But I would be interested in seeing:

    -----------Mannone-----------
    Rosenior Chester Hobbs Dawson
    ------McKenna - Evans--------
    ---Koren------------Brady-----
    ----Stewart--------King---------

My team for Tuesday would be.

    Mannone
    Rosenior, Hobbs, Chester, Dudgeon
    olofinjana
    McKenna Koren
    Brady stewart
    mclean

i think having olofinjana as a holding dm it allows mckenna and koren to comand the midfield and brady and stewart to attack with mclean for me it the perfect balance but cant see barmby dropping fryatt he just has'nt been the same in front of goal this season as he was last!

Forgot about Brady and his concussion, which will mean he is out for Tues and might force the hand for Cam to start, which certainly wasn't the intention.

There is still a chance we might sign someone on loan, but very unlikely before he end of the Jan window (obv loan window is open until March) and it's far from certain.
