We're still sadly lacking, particularly up front

Listened to the game yesterday and although it sounded like a reasonable perfoprmance overall I still get the impression that we don't have regular goal scorers. I think we had a chance at taking at least one point until Carey got sent off but never felt we could score goals. Very disappointed that Nicky was brought on and would have preferred Pitman to get a chance but at least it was a "lets go after it" decision by Del.

We are still in an unenviable position and until we start scoring again we won't win many games in our quest for survival in the championship.

Only one full day left in the transfer window and we are all wondering what will happen, if anything, to lighten our lives and get us in good shape for the summer break and the rebuilding for next season.

Maynard will take care of himself and move on I hope and all we ask that he gives the opportunity to make some hay on the deal - but I'm not holding my breath, are you?

Well Shiny you got the key words into your title.."still lacking" ....

Still lacking the 4-5 key players to get us up to an average championship club. Yesterday we were made to look good on the footy show but in reality we were in a league below Reading. However we did have 3 or 4 good chances that didnt go in, and on the law of averages 1 in 4 should equal a goal so should have had 1,then again same rule applies to Reading so they should have had 2!

Is 4-5-1 the way forward? possibly, maybe away from home, but I would like to see a clear cut 4-4-2 home and away...........

Will win 3 from 4 become lost 3 from 4??? Hope not

I said we were lacking up front but it may be a bit deeper that that do you think. Sad to hear we lost out on Ryan but perhaps DM sees things in a different light now our shortcomings are becoming plainly obvious.

It's starting to look like we need a bigger overhaul than we had hoped for but I think being realistic some better players to give us a better shape might just answer some of the deficiencies. CM must be a high priority to create better movement up front and to help shore up our somewhat questionable defence.

We have to trust that DM has defined the bad areas and has taken action to rectify the problems. Will he be able to fix the broken machine prior to the end of the transfer window or will it take a full summer to sort out the glaring issues? Let's wait and see.

Had Chris Wood put away his chance it might have been a different result

Chris wood is never going to be a 20 goal a season man, but playing Pitman alongside to feed of the flick ons and the hold up play Wood does possess could well bring goals! We cant play a single stiker at home and expect to win. Killer needs to come back into midfield to supply the ball for the front guys. Much as i love seeing Bolasie and Albert bombing down the wings their delivery is at best un predictable, Killkenny will find one magic pass per game that gives the strikers a fighting chance of filling the onion bag!

You just cannot play Kilkenny Bolasie and Adomah in an away set up!
