Just got back from the game, dissapointed more than anything, the lads didn't even try!

Ever Williamson header was going to an opposing player, Simpson had a dreadful night, neither Cabaye or Guthrie got forward and burst into the box, ben Arfa & Gutierrez were static quite a lot, and Best was playing left wing for most of the match?? Ameobi was his usual lay self.

But for me, the worst dissapointment of the night was Pardew, taking off guthrie, ben Arfa & Santon after we went 1-0 down after 80 odd minutes disgraceful, me and Leazes were practically pulling our hair out at that decision! That lad needs to sort out his substitutions!

But anyway, only way from here is up!

The tactics were bizarre and I couldn't work out who was playing where apart from Krul, Shola, Perch and Williamson. All over the place and we were also ****ed over by the ref not sending off one of them for a leg breaker on Cabaye in the forst half and not giving us a pen at the death.

I can understand his subs. None of the players on the pitch were doing anything so it did not matter who he brought off, and Fergie looked quite dangerous down the left, Raylor brought on for his deliveries into the box, and Gosling has been crap but has a knack of popping up in the box and could of grabbed a goal.

I blame Simpson for the goal, he just pulled out of it and let the Brighton player walz around him.

Best was unlucky not to score, feel sorry for him have to play virtually on his own.

If Simpson challenged Buckley then he would have walked.

Simpson should just kept with him and kept him out wide, there was no need for him to be so foolish.

Couldn't understand the substitutions, weird to say the least. It all seemed to be above AP's head.

Yeah, that happened in the 2nd half v Fulham and I couldn't understand it.

BUT, if we beat Blackburn and Villa I'll be happy with the way we're heading.

IMHO Pardew's tactics were horribly wrong today. The 4-2-3-1 was too narrow (Benny and Best always cut in) which meant our full-backs had to push up. This meant Guthrie and Cabaye had to sit REALLY deep and couldn't create much. The subs were also very baffling.

BUT lets not ignore the fact we were very well organised defensively (albeit against a rather toothless championship side), and we were terribly unlucky. Simpson got booked for a perfectly legitimate tackle, meaning he had to pull out of his challenge on Buckley for the goal. Guthrie had a goalbound shot deflected just over, they scored from a deflection and we had a very good penalty shout turned down.

I think if Simpson had been sent off at that stage and we'd have lost we'd be having a lot worse to stay about him. Also with our lack of depth we really can't be affording to lose players to stupid suspensions. The goal was a fluke really, a **** lucky deflection from a fairly harmless cross-shot. Tho from their spirit and our play they probably deserved it
