The fact is deep down we all knew we had no chance of winning the cup anyway. I admit the fantasy was nice for the entire 2 rounds, however we can now focus on finishing as high in the league as possible. I'd rather this than end up at wembley to see us lose there once again. I'm hoping we get are best players on the pitch and don't sell anyone in the next 3 days. In my wildest dreams we sign a defender and cover for Tiote because Gutherie and Cabaye are to similar and it doesn't work. Blackburn away on Wednesday is a definate defeat if the same team plays.
I suspect that you don't speak for many when you suggest losing now is better than a day out at Wembley and a cup final...
Can't always be afraid of disappointment (which I know is the same reason you predicted so many January sales)
I'm in pain when we lose for day or 2 but when we lost a wembley to ****ing years running I was litterally impaled for weeks.
But imagine how great it'll feel when we eventually do win! That can't happen if the team keeps bailing out in the early rounds - saving you the pain of a potential loss in the final
I'm pretty certain we won't win anything until I'm long gone or ever. The evidence is there for us all to see. We are cursed!
Most people would have said Portsmouth couldn't have won it in 2008, but they did. If we could somehow sort our selves out when we play lower level teams there's no reason why we don't have a chance if we get a favourable draw and other big teams play each other early on. But yeah I agree with you about Wednesday, we CAN'T play Shola and best up front or we'll be lucky to get a draw.
