Disagree entirely. He went in to hurt the guy. Don't let your bias blind you.

I'm not a Norwich fan - The name has absolutely nothing to do with football. I've watched almost every game Newcastle have played this season, and I've seen Cabaye put in more than his fair share of dirty tackles.
I'm not saying the guy should be strung up or anything, I'd just like to see people acknowledge that he's not this clean cut pretty boy that you want him to be.

Point 1 - I haven't denied he went in to hurt the guy, I just said the fact it was in the face was unintentional. I have been critical of Cabaye's bad tackles since he came here, so the bias comment has no real justification here.

Point 2 - A mistake on my behalf, it is easy to see why I'd come to that conclusion though is it not? He has had a few dirty tackles, but you can't really say, bar the 3 instances (Bards, Spearing and Tonight), that he has had more than most players of these days? I'm not saying I accept that he makes bad challenges, I'm just saying that if there is going to be some condemnation of him, it would need to be fair in the sense that it could be applied to other players of that nature. The majority of us accept he's not what we make out, the pretty boy joke is exactly that, just something we have a laugh about.

    Is that everything now?

Yes he will get 4 game ban without any doubt. To be fair they should have been down to 10 men for the leg breaking challenge on Cabaye in the first half, however as usual we get arse ****ed one more time.

Cabaye is becoming the new Paul Scholes. He's always leaving his foot in the tackle. If someone like Best had been involved in that incident today I'd be 100% convinced it was unintentional, with Cabaye I'm not so sure. I don't like to see our players behave the way he does sometimes.

He's not a thug though, he's dirty. Players like Pepe and Karl Henry are thugs, they seem to go out with the intention of doing someone serious damage.

It's still intentionally trying to seriously hurt someone though. That's unacceptable behavior.

    Of course.

I think he's had quite a few more than most players. And why bar the 3 'big' instances? They're important, and a good indicator of his character.

I agree. Nasty players should be called out. Cabaye happens to one of them. The fact that there are others, and indeed some worse than him, doesn't change that fact.

You might see it as a joke, but it seems a lot of others find it difficult to accept that he's not so nice a guy.

Yeah that challenge on him in the first half was shocking, albeit it was by a different player.

Still, if I was Cabaye, I would be pissed off and getting constantly kicked by ****ty Championship players... still no excuse for the petulant kick though.

The fact is they should have been down to ten men and we should have had a penalty. Regardless of how **** we are those two facts swung the game for them. We are useless at betting players sent off! we should have been surrounding the ref and making a big deal of it.

Think it looked dubious but no more than that and certainly wouldnt have seriously injured him from that distance but going on past evidence of the F.A. against us he will definately get a ban. Personally i thought he was fouled in that incident in the first place and think it interesting that no-one else has felt the same or bothered to mention it in the desperation to have someone else tried by tv.
By the way i dont think he is an angel by any means, he has dished it out this season as well as recieving it.
As for the game, we were far too keen to stifle a toothless championship team and failed to get at them when they were obviously there for the taking so got what we deserved.
Having said that, both sides could have been down to ten men and we certainly should have had a pen. Both sides were poor and boring and maybe we have to be thankfull we dont have to suffer another 120 mins of that rubbish.

To be honest I think Cabaye red mists a bit sometimes, similar to when he jumped up and shoved over the guy who injured him in the QPR match before he realised he was actually hurt. Tbh I can sympathise with that, especially when the team's under performing and he's frustrated. Shows good commitment to the cause bet he needs to channel it into playing killer balls and scoring goals, not kicking players who foul him.
No idea if he'll get banned tbh, the FA's so inconsistent these days that anything could happen.

I think a-lot of people on here are seeing this with their rose-tinted glasses on, just because he got wiped out in the 1st half doesn't give him the right to go and do something like that, he's a professional footballer, dust yourself down and go and get revenge by knocking the dirty ****er out of the cup!

I find it hard to see how anyone can say there was "no intent" or he just "left his foot in", he clearly changes the direction of his leg towards the player's face. It was a nasty thing to do and every bit as bad as Balotelli's last week, stupid ****ing idiot

Cabaye has a real nasty side to him.

But on another note, he's nowhere near the form he showed earlier this season. Perhaps his first full season in England is catching up with him. When Tiote is back I'd be very tempted to rest Cabaye for a few games and play Guthrie (who's been one of our best players lately) and Tiote.

Not saying Cabaye should be dropped permanently, he just needs a break.

Personally I was glad he kicked that dirty bastard. And he did. It may be ambiguous enough to get away with. Lescott was far more blatant. Then again Balotelli, I thought there was enough doubt. Cabayes facial expression as he handed out retribution for the kicking of Benni may be a problem. Benni will need to toughen up.

I can see him getting banned. Cabaye's tackle on Spearing went to FA so he has previous. I think it doesn't merit a ban but I think it will be given

I think some people need to remember too that sometimes on a football field you need to fight fire with fire. Cabaye has simply shown a willingness this season to not be bullied. Sometimes that will involve getting embroiled in the dark arts. In the role he plays, you need to remember that you must let your football do most of the talking. But I have no problem with the odd dirty tackle on those who try to intimidate him out of the game. Its not realistic to expect professional players to be angels with what's at stake.

we were kicked off the park yesterday and Cabaye gave one back. Good for him because the filthy ****ers should have been down to 10 men after they tried to break his leg in the forst half.

No one gives two ****s about Bardsley either. It was a miracle he didn't break Colo leg back in August. A two footed tackle to his groin area is more than warranted imo

We are useless at getting players sent off etc. The top teams surround the ref and make an issue of every fould. We just get up and get on with it. It will result in another broken leg soon.
