Credit to Brighton, well played. We were poor, lazy first half, petulent in the second.

I don't think we were lazy I think our midfield worked hard but our finishing was very poor.

That goal was 'magic'? It was an own-goal deflection with a side of matador defence.

What a nightmare. We were not that bad really but Strolla needs to **** off. He is useless, lazy and a waste of space. Had enough of him. With an actual goalscorer, we would have won today. Also, how on Earth did we not get a penalty???

Why be negative? They are a Championship team for a reason. Best and Loverman up front with Ben Arfa and Guti on the wings would have raped them. Shola as a lone striker might as well be Pardew saying 'Hey Poyet good luck in the rest of the cup'

Also Shola, best player on the pitch for the job he was given to do. Held up well, got others the ball when they attempted to move near him, set up 2 good chances.

We just thought turning up would be enough. Hope this is a wake up call and I expect to see a much improved performance against Blackburn on Wednesday.

    i'm just disgusted.

You would think the 4-2-3-1 with shola not creating chances in the previous 2 matched may have been a clue to Pardew.

It just doesnt work. We never looked like scoring.

    Pathetic.

They defended alright, but didn't even try to win. One slack break, and I'm not even sure what Mackail-Smith did?

    what?

No! We outplayed Brighton, not by any extraordinary level, but played better football. We weren't necessarily poor, but weren't particularly good. On another day with that performance we could've easily beaten them 2-0. I thought we were quite unlucky and that they were flukey f***s. honestly.

We need to improve for blackburn and we're desperately in need of some strikers... lucky the Dembas are on their return.

So is Best', but he didn't even hold the ball up well or anything of note.
