Today demonstrated just how poor our second choice players are. As if we didn't know, no one , even L1 /2 sides have come in for the likes of East, Cullen, Cairney, Garcia. Only player who showed some composure / quality today was Oli. Garcia missed an open goal, he's ****e Cairney is the slowest, laziest twat I've ever seen in amber and black! Fukkin Roary could outpace him. Why the fuk didn't Simpson get a start instead of Cullen? Has Barmby lost the plot? Can Barmby motivate a team? Will we ever score a fukkin GOOAALLLLL? Who was that arsehole sat behind me today praising Danny East? Too many Q's Well done Crawley! Best team won.
It was a cup match... I really can't understand why you're so angry and disappointed. Yes we lost, but this isn't the main purpose of the season.
Bollocks. Those players aren't bad players. The 'first' team have had the exact same problem several times. Derby anyone? They were worse than Crawley were today.
This is daft, we beat Ipswich with a similar side and no one complained. You have to realise that we have a crucial game on Tuesday night which we need to win so I couldn't give a **** about the FA Cup. Yes it's nice to have a decent run but I would rather finish the season strong! On another note, I thought that King looked promising but I don't think that you can judge him on that game, League 2 sides play very different to Championship ones
Spot on about Oli and Simpson points . that it being a cup game doesnt make the performance of the players or the managers selection choices from the bench anymore acceptable . Bringing on Cullen was an act of insanity
erm , our XI is mostly young players , and i totally advocate that . Had we not got Simpson on the bench i would have accepted Cullen as a choice , Barmby said (paraphrasing) we dont need another striker , we have Simpson back and we will have a good look at him. He got 3 mins at Ipswich set up a goal and didnt even feature today - for me, it stinks . Barmby should have Started Simpson , left Fryatt out the squad with the options to bring on the returning Cullen and McLean for either Simpson or King Im not sure what he can lean from todays game with regards a "plan B"
This is new to me so please forgive me! But I agree with a lot of points made! I think Garcia was unfit after 20 minutes but their keeper (Shearer?) made a hell of a save to stop him scoring. Being sat in the South East; was it just me or was there a strange backpass from Crawley's number 5 which used his arm in the last few minutes? We need a better squad; as I said on another post... should have tried for Billy Sharp in my eyes, would Tubbs from today be tempted to a move up here? A striker is DEFINITELY needed, as well as a reserve right back. Barmby's substitutions were absolutely awful today. The 6 words that are going through my mind; good god we missed Paul Mckenna.
I'm a bit concerned about cover for Rosenior. McShane is crap and out on loan anyway and East doesn't seem ready. I don't think a Sharp or Tubbs like striker would help us. Those players need space and our problem is getting it. I think we should get someone who can work under pressure in the box, a big bugger in other words. To give us something a bit different. Another winger would be good too unless Brady is going to play regularly.
Adam Hammill? I'm a bit annoyed we haven't done any business really this window but then again who is out there? Hopefully this team can get us into the play offs but we do need some back up for Rosie. Still a few days left so hopefully Barmby will have something up his sleeves!
We don't do Januaries, we always **** up when we do sign players in this month so maybe it's best that we get no one
Other than last year I would definitely agree! We did sign Chester, Hobbs and Evans last January I think? But still; I would totally agree with the fact we need a big, strong striker (not Dele Adebola) to possibly partner Fryatt or McLean upfront with Simpson pushing for a starting place from the bench. As much as the Manchester United links have helped us, we need to stop looking at them almost as a 1st choice and look for proven players.
Thinking about it yes we definitely signed Chester in January. But since we spent £2.5m on strikers and a year later our strikers are still pretty crap, you'd have to call that part a failure.
UTTER RUBBISH. ^^^^ this - imo. Get a grip man. Knee Jerker or what. Get over it. Its called Cup football and it happens.
Completely agree, it is a failure. I remember Mr Burns proclaiming how Matty Fryatt was going to score 20 goals this season; yet again a wrong prediction. IMO; Simpson deserves a chance with Koren playing just behind him pulling the strings.
