Bolton boss Owen Coyle has made a £5million bid for Crystal Palace’s brilliant young attacker Wilfried Zaha.

Coyle moved for Zaha after Palace lost their Carling Cup semi to Cardiff in midweek and wants to spend a chunk of the funds he has available from Cary Cahill's sale to Chelsea on the England Under-21 international.

The Scot hopes to beat potential rivals Newcastle and Stoke to Zaha, although Palace are looking for double what the Trotters have offered so far.

Bolton switched their search for new faces to Zaha after Tottenham dithered about selling Giovani Dos Santos, who is also attracting interest in Spain.

Coyle is prepared to give Palace a big payday and a percentage of any future sale.

Zaha would be such a good signing for the future though...Would really love him.

His pace and skill is so good and I'm sure he's 10X the player Obertan is. No doubting his ability.

He's the new Victor Moses. He's ok, lots of tricks, nowt else, seriously, what would he add to our side? No better than Obertan, and not in the same league as Ben Arfa or Jonas.

If the rumours regarding the championship young uns were linked with are true, I'd rather have Rodrigez.

Agree with this totally, plus he's better on the left, where we already have Jonas. I'd rather have Rhodes though, Rodriguez looks a bit like he won't cut it in this league.

Zaha is twice the player Obertan is already. Zaha can play up top or on either wing, he's young, full of tricks and potential. And he is hard working. Would be a good signing.

Moses has improved massively this season. His development was hindered as he picked the wrong move when he went to Wigan, but he's catching up now. Much better than Rodrigez.

That's a description of Obertan. We dont know that Zaha would cut it in the PL, and to pay 5m for a guy who wouldnt get into our best team is not how we operate.

I wouldn't go near Zaha for 5m, we might as well just keep on developing Obertan and Sammy.

I agree 100%. And as for Moses, yes, he's got better, but he's not going to all of a sudden become world class, he's ok, but not great. Him and Zaha are bullets dodged, they are for me like less productive Taraabts, all flair, occasional substance.

A lad at worked summed Zaha up perfectly for me. He said, he's good at drawing fouls, but unless he gets 10 men sent off in a game, he's not going to do much

Even then, we've got Jonas for that.

No, it isn't. Obertan can't play up top. Not as young as Zaha. Has no tricks, and has **** all potential. Obertan is a bloke who is sometimes a little bit fast and can barely kick a ball.

He can and has played up front before, is only 22 therefore does have potential, and I have never seen anyone attempt as many tricks as him, he literally does it all the time. I'm not trying to say he's a brilliant player but to give up on him after half a season is pointless, not everyone hits the ground running.

When has he played up front? Not for us or Man United. Age doesn't mean you have potential, otherwise clubs would sign every 16 year old in the country. I have never seen him attempt a 'trick', a bad stepover does not mean he is full of tricks. I was disappointed when we signed him, and he has only made me realise he is worse than I thought. The guy will never make it at, he is a poor mans Routledge. Pardew should cut his losses and get rid in the summer.

Very clearly has potential and ability, not to mention skill. And if you think he's only doing that because its a worse league, Zaha is in the Championship. Taarabt was hyped up much more than Zaha based on Championship performances, and he is absolute ****e in the PL.
