to back up what chippy said, listening to 5 live and green & lawro agreed that the pool, united games are bigger than any others
Bit late maybe, but I thought Walker, Rose and Livermore did a very good job for you yesterday. A credit to the academy almost. VDV, Modric and Ade were terrible. Bale was non existant
Bale was'nt playing that's why,and Modric was not well, vdv wasterrible?,he scored our goal.being a gooner i suppose that was teribble
Thought the smiley beside the bale comments showed it was tongue in cheek. VDV's shot that led up to the goal was poor. He was very wasteful in possession and tried the Hollywood ball so many times, to no-avail. Your realise that 'being a gooner' doesnt make my opinion biased and one sided.
good,, as long as you don't wum you welcome to post on the board,if you do wum one of our mods will close it like the other one you posted the other day
Van der Vaart was wasted in the role he played in. It's not somewhere that he can do much damage from, despite his goal.
Yeah, surely yesterday, if anything, proved that even when VdV is playing terribly he still has the ability to decide matches.
VDV scored the winner, hit the bar, and was voted MOTM, if that's terrible I'll take that every week, as we win the Cup, and perhaps the double We are now the highest placed team left in the Cup, it could turn out to be a brilliant result come the end of the season. I'm very pleased that Livermore, a home-grown product and Spurs fan, has now made it as a Spurs player. Well done Jake him and Carlo's performances gave some extra hope for the season. I am a bit worried about Ade now, I'll be interested to see how he performs v Wigan.
As a Watford fan the thing that annoyed me most about Spurs last night was that if they'd played like that 2 or 3 years ago they would have been there for the taking. Last night they ground it out and won it fair and square. Bloody spoilsports . All the best teams have won important games playing well below themselves and spurs are beginning to do that. They've got a great chance of winning the cup now.
' Yeah, surely yesterday, if anything, proved that even when VdV is playing terribly he still has the ability to decide matches. ' Really though? He was poor against City and Wolves. I reckon that Defoe should play in the big games where playing 1 up top isn't effective for Spurs. Dont get me wrong, he is a great player on his day, like vs Stoke and QPR. However when he is not on form Harry shouldnt be too proud to sub him off, lennon ends up coming off who in recent times has been faarrr more effective.
Harry subs him quite often, had to last season, with his fitness problems, harry has no problems using subs if he think's it's needed
At the start of the season yes, to put Defoe on. however he has been doing it less and less now, and Lennon seems to be the fall boy.
to be fair, lennon's been injured,he only just got back, and it looks like he might have done a hamstring again
Would be a shame if he had. Yet he was probably Spurs most dangerous player against City, VDV should have gone off for Pineaar or Pav
To repeat VDV scored the winner, hit the bar, was voted MOTM and thoroughly justified his selection. Would Pav or Pienaar scored had they played instead of him, I know not. Did Defoe or Ade score, no. Did they look like scoring, no. To highlight VDV as a weak point in respect of last night doesn't seem right to me.
