They did at times they were superb, and both were consistently good for us with hardly any bad games between them
Dan is a hard working lad and it wont be for the lack of trying to get back to the level he was at before his injuries and god willing hopefully he can. What I liked about Dan was that he meant every tackle and was prepared to put his head in where it might hurt, the sort of hard battling performance that we needed from all the lads in the Leicester Game when the pure football wasn't working. He might find it hard to dislodge Fonte and Hov but a great lad to have as back up.
You have always knocked him as a player and always said he was never good enough. Every one to their own opinion. Will be good to see Seaborne biting at Martins heels as soon as he can. And good luck to the lad. Martin will have to step up especially when everyone Hoof Fonte Jaidi and Seaborne fit. Lets see who features in the future as it is good to have competition for places from such good players.
Lets hope he can get there. Sounds like he has had a rough uphill struggle to even get to this stage. He must be buzzing to get back. Did we ever hear what the extent of his injuries were ? Was it several fractures in his skull & blood clots as reported in the press ?
I believe the worst was damaged nerves to part of the brain that has given him his hardest hill to clime. Starts training Monday and fingers crossed for the lad.
Brain damage? Where did you hear that? Thought it was just a fracture? Well, I say 'just' a fracture...
I wish him all the best but must be the worst position on the park to come back after a severe head injury. I for one will be there when he makes comeback for the reserves
We do have a reserve side, we just call it the under-21s. Older players (such as Puncheon) have played in it though, so it's just a name.
