Hi, Basingstoke, TSB and Ellers, great to find the three of you on here. The Reading boys I know well of course, but Ellers - you're the same guy as our great old conversations? Hope so! Will be onto the QPR board to re-say hello!

Hi Chaps
Yes it is indeed me only now i am having run ins with Chelsea fans.
Hope all is well with you both?
Interesting times at Reading so i hear and see you have signed JR (who is a QPR fan by the way).
I also see that Reading are around the Play-off's, best place to be around this time as you can go along quietly.

West Ham and Southampton seem to be the teams this year but still only Jan?
Hows Gorkss getting on? (good player at Champ level but pace let him down with us).
Anyway pop over to our board some time.

Gorks is doing really well. He's also helped bring Pearce on. They've formed the best CB partnership in the Championship IMO. Hoping Jason will be the missing 'Big Man' we haven't had since Dave Kitson left. It's pretty exciting being a Royal right now!

I echo TSB's words.

I wasn't too happy to see Warnock go personally - come round last few years to giving him full respect, and it wasn't that a complicated situation you're facing either, so scant reward for making remarkable progress at the club.

Not sure about the Chelsea fans though - let's see how many were pre-Abramovich!

Good to hear Gorkss is doing well as he was liked at QPR.
Not Sure about JR? 2 seasons ago we were after him but then he din't really play that much after. Hope its not just a pay day for him with his media career awaiting but if he scores you a few goals it may be worth it.
I think Rob Hulse would have been a better target.

And of course, the other new-un is Thomasz Cywka, pretty useful attacking midfielder but came the wrong of Clough - I like the look of him, and creative midfield going forward is where we've been a bit weak.

Sadly NW was not good enough for QPR with where the club owners see themselves in the future. That was something I was ‘banging on about’ on the old 606 board. I used to say QPR were going places and was mocked by some (not you). For me NW did a great job getting us out of the Championship but simply made too many tactical mistakes in the Prem. It’s a different ball game and I don’t think he adapted that well.
I will always admire NW like Reading fans do with Coppell but I am happier with Mark Hughes and have seen instant results on and off the pitch.

Our Club is a 1000 times better now that ‘Tango and Cash’ have gone and TF and the Mittals are in charge. We now have a top manager, great new players, a new training ground and soon a new stadium. Sadly I think NW was never in their future plans.

As for Chelsea fans you are correct as most are ‘Jonny come Roman’ and have never heard of QPR, Fulham fans are no fun as there are not enough of them and the rest of the Prem seems a bit of a ghost town regarding banter and match posts. Saying that will get a few bitter Norwich fans still demanding a 15 point deduction?

Don’t know much about the Derby boy. I seem to remember him playing against us at some point in the past but not sure. Still could be interesting times at Reading soon, if this Russian bloke is for real and not another ‘pompey style’ owner you could get some decent funds.

I think this is for real. It's not just another deal - Anton Zingarevich went to school in Reading (well, a few miles just outside) and used to go to see the team quite regularly as a teenager apparently. So there is something of a bonding to start off with ...

By way, is that it for NW now, or does he still fancy a go at another management job?

You'll probably know but this was on the BBC a while back:

"Neil Warnock says he lost his Queens Park Rangers job as his reputation was 'slowly poisoned' by critics from within and outside the club. He claimed a "lack of football experience" in the hierarchy left QPR open to "manipulative" people. The 63-year-old said he was unhappy fans and players were able to talk to owner Tony Fernandes through Twitter.

QPR sacked Warnock 11 days ago and he has spoken about his dismissal at length for the first time, saying:

•he was disappointed Fernandes did not sack him face-to-face - instead chief executive Philip Beard delivered the news;
•he was surprised at the decision but has no bitterness towards QPR;
•his successor Mark Hughes is a "good manager", but Warnock "wished he had [Hughes's] agent";
•football had become "immoral" because of players' wages, and the manager's role was not as enjoyable anymore;
•he did not want to discuss midfielder Joey Barton as he "just wants to talk about positive things at the club".
After guiding the London club to the Premier League during the 2010-11 season, the former Sheffield United and Crystal Palace boss was initially backed by Fernandes.

But, despite a poor run of results, Warnock says that "he didn't see [being sacked] coming," and believes the Caterham F1 team boss should have told him personally.

Have seen that but don't think people at the club made him play 'one up front' at home? Or take of the best players when winning and ending up drawing. Sadly i think he cost himself the job.

Anyway back after the Chelsea game (dull and boring) and wasted £43! I see Roberts scored for Reading <ok>
