A bit harsh there DF. I often feel the media portray him as British when it suits them and Scottish when it doesn't! Yes he's unwisely said things about the English football team before but you can hardly blame him when the fickle international media have called him English in the past! He may not come across well in the media but he's actually quite a funny easy going guy. it would be good for the British public to get behind him because he's the greatest player we've ever produced in the modern game. He just happens to be in a formidable era with the likes of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. All some of the greatest players ever to play the game.
Spot on Matt - Murray just lost, but what a match. Being 4th best in the world (at the moment) is no disgrace, and we should all be proud of him.
Tennis. Cricket is dull as dishwater. That tennis match had the excitement of 10 years of cricket highlights
Brilliant tennis match, and the cricket continues to intruigingly evolve. A couple of quick wickets for England tomorrow, and it could be all over by breakfast. But if these two hang on in there and put on another 80+, we'd probably be faced with having to chase down 150 - 200.
Like watching a good game of tennis, never cricket though, although friends have tried to encourage it, to slow and lacks drama for me.
Absolutely epic tennis from both players. Heartbreaking for Murray, sure, but even as an Englishman I feel proud of him.
But what other game can last for five days and still have an exciting finish, with all three results possible?
Glad Murray lost tbh, hopefully the longer he goes without winning much/anything the more the media get bored of hyping him up so it gets to a stage where it is possible to ignore him and tennis in general
I love both sports. Prefer watching tennis though. Same old same old from Murray though, so close yet so far.
I was talking to a colleague in the pub the other day and came up with a brilliant reality show where one swaps a football celebrity with a character in prominence. I suggested Scottish Alex swap where Sir Alex Fergusson becomes head of the SNP and Alex Sammond becomes manager of Man U. One could also switch Mario Ballotelli with Silvio Belursconi (or the pope) either would be entertaining.
Cricket is a thinking man's (or woman) sport. If you want a bish bosh easy to follow, instant gratification game watch tennis.
