Good to hear he still has his feet on the ground, and not looking at other clubs.

It goes to show that if you keep your head down and work hard then a chance may come your way. He spent a long time in the reserves / on the bench / on loan but never complained and got on with what he had to do. Excellent example to all young players at the club.

He's a ****ing brilliant find. Who signed him again?

I remember his debut at 17 years old.

What a ****ing keeper we have.

It's the same knee jerkers that claim Coloccini is slow now.

It was Souness yes, I can remember seeing him on his debut in a reserves pre-season friendly against Hebburn Town, Roeder was the reserves boss at the time and you could see then he had the quality to make it.

That was the match where he was interviewed afterwards and all he could keep saying to every question was 'Amazing'.

i was sat at home watching this and i was like, i hope we give this lad a chance. perfect eventual replacement for given, he was fantastic in this game and palermo had a very good team, i knew we had a potential star but i never thought he would get the chance

I was in a bar often frequented by a few Anderlecht players in the centre of Brussels when this match was on and they were amazed at 'the kids' talent.

They reckoned he'd go all the way.
