http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...llapses?campaign=rss&source=soccernet&cc=5739 Pardew has watched Switzerland a few times...I wonder if we may pull this one off behind the scenes...
No way. By the way Pards was talking, we were lucky to have the £10mill available for Cisse, nevermind another £10-20mill for Shaqiri.
sorry but no chance imo, lol after we just paid out on cisse i cant see us looking at anymore strikers for now, plus the fee would be an issue i think.
They rejected £10m from Galatasaray lol. Were not gonna spend above that on a winger when its not a position we're desperate for. Id actually rather have Elia anyway as a winger, but thats nonsense too.
Shaqiri is far too expensive. however, his basel teammate Valentin Stocker would be far cheaper, and he's very good too, he's just returned from a serious injury.
Id be suprised if Basel sold him, if they continue this Champions League run his value could go above 20m potentially.
When Pardew watched Switzerland he was watching them for Derdiyok, not Shaqiri. Then again, we dont really need another striker right now.
Would never happen. He's one of the hottest young prospects in football and will end up somewhere bigger than us, unfortunately. As the Arsenal fan said, Valentin Stocker would be cheaper, and he has great talent.
Not a hope in hell. Class player but destined for a really big club I'd imagine. I was shocked Galatasray (as big as they are) were even in the running. It was alleged he was willing to go too.
