Poor bloke, RIP. tHOUGHTS WITH HIS FAMILY http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/local/echo_man_ian_dies_aged_41_leave_your_tributes_1_4186039
Totally shocked at this. I went to school with him and shared an interest in American Football. We used to go and watch the Gateshead Senators regularly and even played a bit. He loved SAFC with a passion and that went into his journalism. RIP
Never actually met him but spoke to him 7 or 8 years ago on the telephone. Seemed a good lad and wrote about the club well. Thoughts are with his family and friends.
Was a neighbour of my daughters in Laindon Avenue in Fulwell for several years Sunderland fanatic and told it how it was - nice lad. RIP Ian
Like other posters have said, i enjoyed reading his reports/previews etc. RIP Ian, thoughts are with your family.
