I was on the terraces of the old North Bank at Highbury once in the early eighties, surrounded by some nasty looking skinheads, but it was such a dire 0-0 game that there was absolutely nothing to shout about.

A few years ago I was sat in the North Stand at Old Trafford with a Man U supporting mate. We were 2 nil down at half time, but turned it round in the 2nd half. When Kevin Phillips equalised I lept to my feet and shouted "Yesssss!!!! Super, Super Kev..." No one said a word, but I think my mate wanted to thump me.

I've sat in southampton fans before. I celebrated, got dirty looks but thats it. I reckon just stay 'uncelebrated' and you'll be more than fine.

Amazing how humour can be resurrected - when you are 5-0 up!

Sat in with Arsenal fans at Highbury could not keep mouth shut when guy next to me commented as to how overated LeTiss was and a heated debate ensued much to the anxiety of my gooner mate as it happened Tiss let me down and was pretty ineffective whilst Bergkamp ran the show in his first real show of form for Arsenal and it was pointed out to me who the real talent was by the guy and by now one or two mates even insulting my Hampshire accent.Given the circumstances i had no option but to shut up

i sat in the away end at st marys when leeds played (an all premier league ficture at the time). Was pretty scary, their a rough bunch although they did have a good song about lee bowyer that was pretty catchy. Saints didnt score so no problems. I also sat in the away end at the dell a couple of times. Once with Villa fans and le tiss scored and they were all moaning going 'why does he always score against us'?? Ha ha, cos you're f***ing brummir tw*ts I said (in my head mind)... I've sat in with pompey fans a few times but saints werent playing but when their singing their anti saints songs its not much fun.

Have done it many a time at Pompey Although to be fair not when Saints are playing, although have done that a few times too!! However it is usually by invitation and the people around us know me through my mates who invite me. Trouble is these mates are fast disappearing what used to be five are now down to two and no not because of events on or off the field! years ago My two cousins, their dad and me used to do it quite regularly. If there was not enough allocation we used to go anyway and buy on the day with the home supporters. It is probably easier to say which grounds we haven't done that (top flight football). Neither of the Manchester grounds none of the London grounds except Fulham, QPR and Palace. Don't remember going in the home end at Newcastle either nor Wigan or Middlesboro. So yes I guess quite a few.......

i was in the south stand that day two rows behind directors box; I went up when we equalised too, but when Ruud van nistleroy scored the winner, the lump behind me gave me a bit of a head ruffle!

Took my Bolton supporting mate to SMS once and sat him in the Northam. Think it was 2003/2004 I cant remember. All I know is Bolton won 2-0 and Higginbotham gave away a penalty in the first half. He did his best not to celebrate but couldn't resist. He nearly got a pasting that day, and so did I for trying to calm the pretty pissed off Saints fans sat around us.

This season, we went to Bristol City. Nightmare. Chappers got injured in the first 5 minutes and we lost 2-0. Spent all the way down there worrying about restraining myself when we scored. Sadly didn't have to worry about that at all. Didn't like it. Wouldn't recommend it. Felt a bit of a Judas on both counts.

Yep, away to Reading this year. Went with Reading supporting mates. Was sat behind another saints fan, when de Ridder equalised, not jumping up and screaming seemed almost impossible

Have done it a few times, but my favourite has to be villa away in 99.

The game was a drab affair, looked like ending goalless, and then Dean Richards rises to power a header home from a corner.

That man was a legend for us, RIP

My director gave me his season tickets for Stamford Bridge when we beat them 4:1, From memory Beattie scored a worldy free kick etc.

Me and my mate jumped up and applauded while forgetting where we were for a second. We then got severe abuse of F**k off youre not welcome ere and outside the ground youre dead!! Working on that basis we cheered the other 3 goals anyway. They left us alone because i think they thought we were either hard as nails or mentally challenged !!

I also went corporate to see saints beat Man City 3:2. I had the first and last scorers Beattie and Phillips i think but that did not end well!!

A total of three times for me but one almost doesn't count. The first was Stamford Bridge when we lost and didn't score. The second was when we won at Palace and I had to sit on my hands when we scored two and then there was the one that almost doesn't count. The game was also Selhurst Park and we had to win away to Wimbledon to have a chance to stay up on the last day. The place was a sell out and a sea of red and white. When we scored it looked like three quarters of the stadium contained Saints Fans. A night that lives long in the memory.
That said, if I was going to Leeds away I would certainly be sitting on my hands again!

Have done it a few times, and it's mostly been a good laugh. As long as you show a bit of respect, I think most home fans don't mind too much. Anfield in 1998 was good, and the home fans were great even though we won. Admittedly, I didn't rub it in.

I sat in with the Norwich fans when we both still in the premiership mate is a Norwich fan. Beattie scored after about 10 minutes as I recall unfortunately I was already up screaming yes get in there before remembering where I was..... the next 80 minutes or so were interesting to say the least , I took a lot of light hearted and in many ways funny abuse from the Norwich fans. Thankfully we lost 2-1 but I have to say ever since then I have had a lot of time for Norwich and there fans because through it all I never felt threatened at all it was just good banter the way it should be.

Have also been in the wrong end at Fratton Park a couple of times with Pompey supporting mates .....not funny and not clever at all

Yes, in Exeter (who are my second team anyway)

You've got to be a little more subtle in your support and make comments that are non-committal things like "Blimey, that Lallana's looking a bit sharp today", "Saints are getting down the left hand side a lot" or "It was coming. They'd had several attacks sooner of later they were going to get one on target."
