Lionel Messi and one goalkeeper could beat an entire 11 player non-league team in a match? Or how about Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and a goalie versus an 11 player non-league team?
That would be hard as one man could make an effective off side trap! However Messi and a Valdes alone would not beat any team. Messi, Xavi and Iniesta with a goalie would be interesting though.
Not if the non league side formed a large circle around one player in the middle who dribbled up the pitch to score.
I don't even think it would take that many. It's one hell of a step up from a non-league team to (arguably) the best team on the entire planet. Good thing about players like Messi, Xavi and Iniesta is that they can hold possession very well, especially against (in comparison) an extremely poor side. And Messi would probably be able to dance around very low level defenders with ease to rack up a fair number of goals.
True. I reckon a keeper, 2 defenders or 1 defender and midfielder playing deep and Messi could stand a good chance, maybe another to support him. 5 maybe?
It's true. Chappaz had a thread about crazy tactics a few weeks ago and this was his opening example.
Valdes, Puyol, Iniesta, Xavi & Messi would beat an 11 man non league team. They'd just dance the ball around the opposition and constantly score.
Well they should pick Busquets then. After about 40 minutes it would be 6 vs 6, he'd have gotten most of the opposition sent off.
They'd need some defence, even those 3 couldnt keep the ball for that long against 11 players. 5 or 6 Barca players maybe could.
I'd say that team could be championship sides. --Sanchez---Messi--- -------Xavi--------- Alves-Macherano-Puyol --------Valdes-------
I bet they couldn't Everyone knows 11 Barcelona players would struggle on a Wednesday night in Stoke....
