You may think this is inappropriate for a Newcastle forum, but so is Tash and nobody complains about him (much)... No offence Tash, my tongue is firmly in my cheek... (I know yours is up whoever invented the newcastle facial graphics for Fifa 12... You know I tease because I love you)

Anyway, I was wondering, what is the consensus on John Terry... The last bastion of English football? The symbollic embodiement of "have it" football? The lynchpin or anchor behind the phenomenol rise of Chelsea? A clunt of the highest order? All of the above?

Whichever way you look at it, he'll leave a mark on English football. Racism aside (although I'm very interested in seeing his reaction to his name being blackened by this scandal...), this is a man who is not afraid of putting his body on the line for the cause... Who is not afraid to put his head where it may get bloody (but enough about Vanessa Perroncel on her period)...

John Terry, indeed, belongs to our "golden generation" of talent (which makes you worried about what the lean years to come will be like :/), and has been part of more failed attempts at bringing home a souvenir than Kerry Katona on a night out... As such, does he deserve to be recalled in years as a great who once graced the St James' Park turf (see, it is all on topic...), or will he be forgotten because the only time we ever talk about Chelsea is because it's hilarious to know Mourinho would probably have won them the Champions League by now?... Would he make anybodies all-time England dream-team? Or is his rapidly declining ability to mix it with pacey players going to be something our Senegalese pairing shall give hell (re-in your face, it all connects)?

i don't know how to reply.. im sure this was meant to ask a question of some sort but it seems lost in a sea of un-necessarily puns

He is a legend, a proper defender. He's Chelsea's version of Steven Taylor.

Unnecessary puns? I can only think of two such circumstances where a pun may be ill-advised:
    1. If Terry is chatting with the judge on a break from proceedings and is asked if he likes his coffee without milk...
    2. If Titus is having a roast dinner with his mum, and, upon him asking for more gravy, she replies "your face is so hard to say no to"...

In truth, the purpose of the article was the puns, the formality of article authorship is better in the hands of more intellectual individuals... I'm more tactless than Tacitus...

Complete and utter ****, quicker he's out of football the better, especially for England.

Although reading the OP, I cannot take it serious.

He's like Stevie T for us, but not as good and is banging his team mates wives behind their back whilst being racist.

... But yes, superlatives describing his "commitment" and determination aside, he is a scumbag of the highest order.

I don't give a **** about if he's been accused of racism or whatever, I think in a way some of the criticism on that front is premature. Innocent till proven guilty and all.

What I care about is if he's a good defender... and he's past it. He lastest longer than Ferdinand but just as surely now his pace has gone too.

He is a ****. I don't think he is that good anymore, should never play for England again.

    Did I say he was a ****?

His best days are certainly behind him now. In his day he was awesome, he was an all round defender, brave and also a great leader. As far as his england career goes he's the type of player this country based itself on 15-20 years ago, passionate and up the for the cause. Sadly we all know how English international football has panned out over the past decade and will, sadly, be remembered for being part of an over hyped England squad and its failings...Not to mentioned a tainted reputation from scandals which have occurred over the past couple of years.
