Get urself in darleys (big family pub with decent grub & will b showing game on sky). Turn off for hessle & its a mile down from the humber bridge. Then go get the p&r in hessle to the ground. Job done.
Since you have kids I'd say this is the the best option, Either darleys or the pub at the village hotel, foods great but quite pricey and it's on the same business park as the park n ride. Can't miss it off the hessle exit on the A63
I'm sorry but I must say I despair at away supporters walking down Anlaby Road around the KC, an utter shambles through total lack of investment for improvements. But I agree that if the away supporters can find it, then Darleys is a decent choice with kids in tow. Not sure what Brickies is like these days.
Round The Corner Cafe Bar on Spring Bank is decent too, decent beer and nice food. Pretty modern inside, but will probably be quite quiet at the weekend.
Thanks for all the info,as we are coming by train will head to princes ave.Good luck for the rest of the season.
Defintely echo this. Some of the other suggestions are a bit daft to be honest - as if you'd go to the trouble of Ye Olde White Hart when it's a good 45 minute walk to the ground with kids?!? Princes Ave has multiple good, family pubs to visit and will be welcoming and friendly.
Oh come on - there's far more famous grounds with far worse areas nearby.Take both Liverpool clubs or even Citeh for instance - they make Anlaby Road look like the hanging gardens of Babylon.
I'd reccomend Darley's if your with kids and want to pop on the Park and Ride down to the KC. Grub and Beer's fairly cheap and pretty good. If you're wanting to be in city centre and walk down to the game, there's a lovely little pub called the Wellington Inn not too far from St Stephens shopping centre, which if you go straight through there's a road right up to the stadium. They have about 100 bottled beers and ten pumps, with a few changing fortnightly.
Fortnightly?! Ales in the Welly change on an almost daily basis - as soon as one's gone, the next one's up. The ciders/perries are on a little longer admittedly. Agree with your recommendation however - the best pub in Hull by a country mile. No grub though of course.
Zooalogical on Princes Ave, Sky, away supporters are ok, foods not bad and you can take kids in. It will take you 15 min walk to the KC from there. Park on any of the Streets off Princes Ave, but get there early they fill up.
As you're coming by train, get grub before heading to a pub. Opposite the shopping centre (next door to the station), there is a tiny little Bistro called Wokkas, the food is well nice and a very good price. lunch time deal something like 2 courses for £6.50. Food cooked in front of you.
The Avenue on Chants Ave is my local so keep out of my seat! You've been warned!! If I was you I would try Beverley....And don't get confused with Beverley Road, the two are completely different!!
True Bum Chinned, funnily enough I was in Liverpool last weekend, but they are both trying to build new grounds in more favorable surroundings, KC was built in the wrong place to begin with, for me Priory Sidings was the place to be if they had to leave Boothferry Park at all.
At Man City they've avoided the problem by pretty much demolishing everything around the ground, it's almost all new flats now(or sites for new flats). It's also the worst car park in Britain to get out of.
It can't be any worse than that multi story next to wembley stadium when there's 70 odd thousand there for a playoff final!
