http://www.safc.com/news/20120124/safc-announce-pioneering-african-partnership_2256213_2587134 By the sounds of it we're really going for Africa Especially an oil company, could be a good business deal for us I think Growing reputation I think
Not sure if we fully understand or appreciate the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes, sounds like a very enterprising bit of business ,well done everyone involved.Surely strong African links has to be a major plus, I guess it's all about becoming a global brand, again well done.
Tullow Oil is actually headquartered in London and is in the FTSE 100. It extracts its oil from Africa, but it's basically an English company.
Understatement mate, I work in Nigeria, the corruption capital of the world. Saying that I doubt we would be daft enough to get burned on this, Short didn't get to where he is without knowing a thing or two about business.
The Company was founded by Aidan Heavey in 1985 in the Republic of Ireland as a gas exploration business operating in Senegal. Seems all roads lead to Ireland. Again.
Just had a look at their logo. It's gash. I wouldn't want it on our shirts. Mind you I honestly can't see what a oil exploration company could gain from a sporting sponsorship but this could very well lead to more suitable company's showing interest.
I love to hear that we're developing our brand like this and hopefully in the process doing some good... Corruption in Africa you say? Hmmm... nothing like that ever happens in the UK or Europe does it I mean it's not like English managers take bungs or avoid tax...
