Eljero Elia - Something exciting!!!

Newcastle United are keen on a loan deal for Juventus winger Eljero Elia.

The Dutchman was on the Magpies’ radar last summer when he was heading out of German side Hamburg after falling out with boss Armin Veh. However, the 24-year-old headed to Italy rather than securing the move to England that he had hoped for after English clubs were put off by the reported 9million euro (£7million) valuation that Hamburg had put on.

Less than six months on and Elia has played in just two Serie A games for Juve and is looking for a loan move out of the club in order to further his dreams of playing for the Netherlands at the Euro 2012 finals this summer.

Elia was ruled out of Juve’s Coppa Italia game with Roma earlier this week with collateral ligament damage although the player himself took to his Twitter feed to claim he was not injured. However, Elia has failed to fit into Antonio Conte’s plans for the side and, like another winger Milos Krasic, finds himself sidelined.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew was interested in Elia – alongside Chelsea and Arsenal – before he moved to Italy and could offer him a temporary move out of Italy. Everton are also said to be interested.
