    When was he a striker?

    Maybe Emile Heskey?

It could be someone like Samba from Blackburn, or Theo Walcott (is he still considered to be a striker, I think of him more like a winger)?

    Is he English?

Didn't I read Williamson started as a striker?

    Rooney? Midfielder now?

Too many to guess about really.

the guardian got him to write an article whaich happened to be in a similar style, but it had no affiliation to 'the secret footballer' and everyone jumped on it; 'omg david james is the secret footballer', despite it saying it was written by him at the end. not a very good secret footballer if you publish their name at the end of the article

    anyway. its not david james
