"Katlego Mphela (born 29 November 1984 in Brits, North West) is a South African footballer who currently plays for Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premier Soccer League and South Africa. His style of play includes challenging defenders with both pace and strength but he can still play deep as a supporting striker. He is nicknamed "Killer" for his finishing ability" Sounds good....but we all know the Prem is a big step up!! (Are South Africa in the African Cup Of Nations?).

Perhaps we are looking in those sort of places, cause everyone is so overpriced in Europe. I assume that he is established enough to get a permit, you just have to be a full international (amongst other things)
Last Updated: January 25, 2012 11:30am South Africa international could be for the Premier League Queens Park Rangers are understood to have made an enquiry for Mamelodi Sundowns striker Katlego Mphela. The 27-year-old has an impressive record in the Premier Soccer League in South Africa and for the national team, which has earned him the nickname "Killer". This record has brought him to the attention of new boss Mark Hughes, who is looking for striking reinforcements for his team. Enquiry Mphela's adviser, Glyn Binkin, confirmed there is interest in the marksman, but refused to confirm which team had registered it. "There has been an enquiry made, but I can't comment further than that," Binkin told KickOff.com. Reports in England suggest that QPR boss Mark Hughes is eyeing up a swoop for the Bafana Bafana striker, with his agent Glyn Binkin confirming to KickOff.com that âthere has been an enquiry madeâ by an unknown club. âKillerâ reveals that he has yet to be informed of any interest, but acknowledges that he still harbours ambitions of returning to Europe following a two-year spell in France earlier in his career. âNo-one has talked to me about it yet so I donât know anything,â he tells KickOff.com. âI woke up in the morning and saw it on the Kick Off website that Glyn had confirmed there is interest in me from overseas. Weâll have to see what happens because itâs not up to me. If Sundowns want me to go then I will, but if they donât then there is no problem.â Mphela adds: âIâd love to go to any team in the English Premier League because itâs every playerâs dream to play there so hopefully something will happen. Letâs just wait and see.â Now 27, Mphela moved to France as a teenager to play for RC Strasbourg, but returned to South Africa to join SuperSport United. He moved to Sundowns in 2008 and went on trial with Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic back in July. http://www.kickoff.com/news/26691/sundowns-striker-katlego-mphela-would-love-qpr-transfer.php Have to admit that last paragraph is a slight worry...
yes, not wanting to write him off without knowing anything about him, but if he was any good, would he still be playing in SA at 27?
Sounds like a good player and another free kick specialist! Also sounds like he would be willing to come.
