Well said. PS. With Forest's scoring problems, I wouldn't be surprised if tonight gets the lad fast-tracked into the first-team match squad very soon.
What, so we can't buy anyone's kids anymore just to prevent a section of our fans looking like hypocrites?
I don't think he was having a go at you - and I certainly wasn't. If the lad is a talent, then I'm completely behind you in wanting to sign him up. I was aiming my comment at those who seem to think there's something wrong with bigger/better clubs snapping up other kids, when there isn't. It's called football.
Scoring at that level is completely different to doing it at first team. Pretty sure McGoldrick was equally if not more lethal at that age.
Kids that are ridiculously big or quick can look like the dogs bollocks in youth games. We'd need to watch him a bit first.
Just got back from the game and I have to say the lad looked pretty good. Took his goals well and was a handful for our defenders all game with good movement as well.
Indeed JB. I remember he scored something like 30-40 goals in the youth season and everyone bating for him to be fast tracked tothe first team, so I'd say that he probably a good player and it is a risk but depend
I went as well and I agree he was a handful. But even though he did take his goals well everyone was a result of poor defensive work from our boys. I thought he was good but nothing special.
