i wasn't saying we should consider him over best.

re-read the original post, i say there isn't enough between the two and if we were to get rid of one we would be more likely to actually get money for best. neither are good enough to be regular starters imo, shola will never leave though and can be just as useful as best as a substitute to see a game out.

Agree, but we arent desperate for cash, would only get 3m for Best if we were lucky.

There's plenty, PLENTY between him and Best. I would rather we paid to get rid of Shola than got a couple of million for Best and had to suffer Shola on the bench.

shola imo would offer more than best if he was subbed on in the final 10mins of games and something different to our other strikers, which we may need in our locker. best would just be a poor substitute for ba/cisse.

how many freekicks has best won this year? shola is a master at slowing down play (intentionally or not haha)

If we actually have to rely on one of them to start games Shola is ****ing useless though. We might as well have had 10 men on saturday.

that's a bit harsh. first half shola was good, he was even dropping into the midfield and tackling fulham players. he faded badly second half though, really badly.

i definitely agree we're screwed if we rely on him to start though, but the same can be said for best. we need a better 3rd choice imo

I dont think it is. I've tried my best to defend him but the last two performances have been dire. He still has no understanding of the offside rule, he still cant hold the ball up and still fouls opposition defenders for no reason.

second half you're right, he was abysmal, but so were most of our players. first half he did most things correctly (had a few moments where he didn't link up well with best, but overall he played well). meh. shola is as shola does

And it isn't good enough for the Premier League no matter how you swing it.

sorry like, but i've put forward a reasoned argument as to why i reckon he'd be a decent 4th choice. you're just coming across as a shola hater now <cheers>

Can score?! 4 goals this season, in however many appearances is hardly prolific!
Shola may be a figure of ridicule, but at least he knows the off-side rule and cares about the club. Best is so dreadful, I just can't bear to watch him.

Shola can manage the same goal return and offers more than a chip on his shoulder and constantly being off-side.

And as has already been mentioned, we could actually convince some idiots with parting money for Best.

Sorry, but if people wanna slag off Shola, then they should offer the same 'support' for Best.

Kind of agree, although Best is better than Shola and isn't lazy like Shola is imo.

I do believe though that he is Championship quality, or maybe good enough for a team like Wigan/Wolves.

think you're going to lose a few people with "shola knows the offside rule" there
