The striker may be suspended for three games following the incident with West Brom's Jonas Olsson during Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Roy Hodgson's side at the Britannia. Stoke City striker Peter Crouch could face a three-game suspension for violent conduct if he is found guilty of eye-gouging West Bromâs Jonas Olsson, according to The Daily Mirror. The FA have decided to take a closer look at the TV evidence surrounding the heated argument between Crouch and Olsson in West Bromâs 2-1 win over Stoke at the weekend. The former Tottenham striker could be punished with a charge of violent conduct after cameras appeared to show him push his fingers towards the Swedish defenderâs right eye after Stoke had a penalty appeal waved away. After the game, incensed Baggies fans took to Twitter and voiced their outrage at the incident, calling for the FA to take action after Crouch went unpunished by the referee Anthony Taylor during the game. If the Stoke target man is found guilty he will miss the FA Cup tie with Derby County on Saturday, before games against Manchester United and Sunderland. I have no recollection of this at all. I cannot remember any incident involving Crouch and Olsson, so I hope it's just paper talk. Mind you, it might give someone else a go at the weekend...
He should get a ban, to be honest. Stupid thing to do.
Well going off that short clip, it did look intentional too me, silly ****. Oh well, at least it mean Jerome starting.
Yup me too, as a rugby man, I have seen too much of that, the normal ban is between 6 and 8 games. However - that is NOT a gouge. In rugby terminology it is - inappropriate contact with the eyes - same thing in essence, but a world apart from an actual gouge. Bottom line, if you use your hands near or touching anybody's face, head etc, you are asking for trouble. Do you think Crouchy was reacting to an appropriate/inappropriate (delete as you wish) about his wife
Couch puts his hand with fingers open onto his face... looks obvious enough. Seem's the player's reaction was late though and if that had been Rugby the guy would be in agony. It didn't seem too bad. But, rasie hands into face means trouble for Crouch IMO. Silly boy and no doubt the F.A. will ban him.
Silly boy, but at least it means someone a bit more in form will be starting the next few games. He should definitely be banned for it.
