Good morning fellow Saints and Blockheads fans! Waking up late in a very grey dismal Liverpool and the weather suits my mood this morning. Words like "abject" spring to mind so need some reasons to be cheerful ... Here's mine, please feel free to add Lambert will be back - hopefully given 60 minutes on Saturday and then fed on red meat in preparation for the next League game Chaplow must come back soon (this feels desperate!) We have a relatively easy run in at the end of the season No one team is putting together a strong run. How naffed must you be as a Boro fan after losing at home to Burnley and away to Coventry (away to Coventry??) and so have blown the chance to put pressure on the top two We have a good manager. If anyone can kick the team up the arsenal and get them going again he can That'll do for starters. Looking at it it does look a pretty thin list, but come on we have to start somewhere. I'm off to the gym to take stick from a Leeds fan. Have a good day you boys 'n' girls who are paying for my pension!
We've also got supporters like you (positive/optomistc)....seen it all before, played a bit, sometimes the game drfts away and nothing goes right, last night was frustrating but I think the manager is good....dig in, we'll be back
We've got another 'golden generation' of young talent ready to break into the first team in the next few years.
We have the best manager in the division, anyone who blames the manager for yesterday's performance needs a long hard look at themselves. Another positive.
The very fact we are still winning, losing, and drawing as a football club..............nearly wasnt remember...
In an excellent field you win! None of us should forget how dark that felt. Last night was a breeze by comparison. Good on you, Richie and others on other posts this morning for reminding us all of that
Perhaps there should be a separate thread for the pessimists so they don't feel left out...oh yes, it's the match thread. My optimistic points are: 1. We're not playing Leicester or Bristol City again this season. 2. We can play a lot better than that 3. Although we have to play good sides, so do they. 4. Redknapp is in court at last 5. Lambert and Fonte will be back soon. 6. We're Saints fans.
im cheerful because they're exceeding expecations set at the start of the season. that should be enough imo.
Glad the next game is a cup...we want to win but not essential. The team can play with some freedom, gives a few players a run out, and a win is good for morale before the cardiff game.
Hi new to this and enjoy the banter. Where is it written that being a saints fan is supposed to be easy? Thankfully we've got enough level headed fans who can see the big picture. Anyone can slag off the team/manager/chairman it takes a much bigger person to stay calm and KEEP THE FAITH!
Quite right. Being a Saints fan has never been easy. Over the years we've had some good teams and some awful ones but inconsistency has always been our one consistent trait! Welcome to the board, saintkeef. This is a mad place to be but a great one to read the views of fellow Saints. Onwards and upwards.
