Was just reading this report on the cup game at West Brom whilst we were in the championship and remembering the diabolical refereeing display that day by James Linnington. I still think I physically hate him to this day.

His performance was a joke, a serious question had to be raised but no highlights were ever shown of the shocking incidents.

The first goal was given, probably just over the line but difficult to call. The second, Bednar was all over Kadar, clear foul, Bednar then falls over and the linesman and referee give a penalty. Then, in the second half, we had 3 penalty shouts, 2 were so ****ing blatant it was unreal. The foul on Shola was a stonewall penalty, for it not to be given but then they go straight up the other end and get one themselves.

Even Hughton lost the plot, and I really hope we never see this official again.

Anyway, brings me to ask, what refereeing performances have stood out for you which have been absolutely disgraceful against us?

That referee when we played at Blackburn in the League Cup this year was a joke turned down a penalty for a blantant foul on Ba, gave a penalty against us when Goodwillie has originally controlled the ball with his hand and Krul had won the ball. Were other shocking decisions in the game in favour of Blackburn.

From the Ben Arfa game? Aye, I was thinking of that one.

    - Failed to give a foul or a card against De Jong for a leg-breaking challenge
    - Gave them a penalty when Williamson got the ball AND it was outside the box
    - Didn't give us the most obvious penalty there can possibly be when Lescott tripped Shola

    Just dreadful.

"Isle of Wight-based Linnington made former foes Steve Bennett and Rob Styles look like lifelong Toon devotees, while even the odious Trelford Mills now has a rival.

If you think Linnington was cheating, you should of been at the game where this guy was reffing, I was, so i can say, seen it all before

All of these were blatantly obvious to everybody in the ground except Atkinson, even the the Ben Arfar incident happened right in front of him.

Sometimes makes you wonder if some palms aren't crossed with silver.

Anytime we've had Webb. Mackems (a) this season, how he and his officals missed Larsson's handball and ManUre (h) turned down penalty appeal involving Ferdinand wiping Ba's standing leg from behind just before his sweet half volley to make it 1-0.

It just seems Webb tries his hardest to not give anything to us

Maybe MA doesn't cross their palms with enough silver.

Anyone around at the time of the Telford Mills display? Was much made of it nationally?
