    ....I work near Stoke, and on my lunch break I'm sat opposite a group of Stoke fans who are seriously discussing the possibility of them signing Leighton Baines <laugh> They're not even joking!

    They also reckon Rodallega is on the way to the Brittania. And they've also said how shocking Woodgate has been at RB.

    Hugo I could potentially see after Cameron Jerome, but im not so sure about Baines. Man Utd have Evra, Chelsea Cole, City Clichy, Tottenham Assou-Ekotto, Liverpool Jose, and Arsenal Gibbs & Santos. Stoke doesn't seem that bad actually :S

    Hugo could happen, but no way on hell would Baines go anywhere near Stoke......

    I know Everton are struggling cash wise but everyone should allways bear in mind with Baines that its his boyhood team. It'll take a lot to get him out of there. Like CL football would be a minimum starting point. Plus although Everton have their troubles, they're still a bigger draw than Stoke. He's a footballing fullback too so not really in keepingwith their direct approach. Non starter.

    Rodallega maybe but I think Martinez would be loathe to lose him while they're still struggling. He could maybe fight off a Stoke type club. And I could have told them Woody can't play right back. Out and out centre back, always has been, always will be. I'm impressed they've got so many games out of him.

    Rodallega is one of the worst strikers in the league so I could see that happening and to be honest if the moneys right I could see Baines too, They're above Everton and Europe and the teams above them have good left backs.

    He's better than that Spurs LB imo, and he's better than Santos and the always injured Gibbs at Arsenal.

    But Spurs need a new striker and will be looking for a goalkeeper too with Friedel coming towards the end of his career. Arsenal have 2 left backs who aren't as good but need strengthening elsewhere.

    For a natural right back playing at the left who has just turned 21, and had only 7 previous appearances in the English Premier League, most of them subs while barely putting a foot wrong and on a day the entire team were dire I think he can be let off for it.

    And sorry for the double post but I find **** like this hilarious - I remember when John Henry began splurging money for the Scousers they were all posting proposed XIs on football site comment sections including the likes of David Villa, Eden Hazard and the like. Hilarious how it turned out.

    Baines would not leave the club he has supported since a boy to join Stoke. Just not gonna happen. Its hardly like Stoke are guaranteed to finish above them either. There is a long way to go. Its one of the reasons I don't believe in somes assertion that anything below 7th would be a disaster for us. We're only 6 points ahead of 8th and 9 points ahead of 11th. There is a lot can happen between now and May. It would be disappointing if we did not capitilise on our start but its no good just expecting things.

    Baines would never sign for Stoke because he hasn't got the build of a Rugby....... sorry for stokes physical football, plus he likes to play football and isn't into gouging like Crouch<laugh>
