OK he was only there for a few minutes, and the game was hardly at a stage where we would be relentlesly attacking, but he did enough to see what Sor Alex and Nick Barmby see in him. When I first saw him in his tracky before the game I thought he looked fairly slight. But when he came on you could see he is good size, strong and isnt gonna be knocked off the ball easily. If he is as fast as Robbie Brady says as well, then that is a potent threat!!
Do you reckon he'll be given the full match v Crawley? I see no reason not to like, except for the slight knock he had before he came here.
i have no idea about his match readiness or match fitness i suppose it is also called. For the few minutes he was on at Reading, you could see what he might offer
He came on for the last few mins at Reading so they cant be doubting his fitness, surely. I think he may get a full game on Sat. Just ordered my ticket and they say that business is brisk this morning and they will sell more tickets for this game than the Ipswich tie.
Yes i think he will play in the 3 alongside Brady and Garcia against Crawley. One run he made @ Reading when he gave the fullback 10 yards and still beat him to the ball. Yes King can run. Just hope he can be as quick with the ball at his feet. lol.
I'd expect him to play some part in the game against Crawley to gain match fitness. However, don't think they will risk him playing all the match, due to the chance of picking up an injury. if we get the game done and dusted in the first 60minutes. Think we will see plenty of changes. Olyfinjana, Garcia, Cooper, Dudgeon, Cullen are all players wanting to be on the team sheet for the this game to prove themselves. Will be good to watch im sure. I've just purchased my tickets for £5. Absolutely brilliant!
I don't think he will start, but probably come on with 30 min to go, slowly getting him back into match fitness.
£10 mine and very happy about that. Looking forward to Cup Fever and another home win. Not easy but still a win.
Asked the guy at the ticket office if we have sold many his reponse: raises eyebrows "hell yeah" should be a good crowd! #cuprun
Crawley Town have been given an initial allocation of 2,500 and the entire North stand IF they need it. Its an interesting cup tie and opposition we dont normally see. Plus the chance to see Josh King make his home debut (hence why i think King will start) and of course City are winning. I think approx. 15,000+ will be there.
I've just bought my tickets and most of the pass holders haven't bothered when the guy showed me the seating screen on the computer. Most of the general sale seats have already gone so when the 'hold' on pass seats ends after today, hopefully the attendance will increase with more general fans if most of the pass holders aren't bothering.
Well, I ordered mine today, when I asked the lady in the ticket office how sales were going she said very well. They are fully expecting the gate to be bigger than the Ipswich one.
That's nowt to get excited about to be honest. It was only 10K (rounded down). I'm hoping for a decent turn out from Crawley but for the City fans to keep them quiet for the match and a decent performance from the players on the pitch. I'd give the likes of Emerton, Garcia, King, Simpson etc a run out. Will be interesting to see who Barmby will keep in from the regulars.
I'm waiting til tomorrow to get my ticket as I want to sit somewhere else but they'd only let me have my normal season pass seat today.
I have no idea what the team would be, I imagine Rosenior will be rested, so we might see Danny East in at RB. Other than that I think the same back 4, possibly Cooper in for Chester but I think if we are 2-0 Barmbs will bring him on. Will probably see Cullen at some point, King to start for me but not play the whole game and I just wonder if we might see Will Atkinson against League 2 opposition to put him in the shop window.
15,000+ is very very hopefully, i highly doubt it. However i have to admit that i am quite looking forward to this. However if we don't start Josh King we will have missed a huge chance to get him some game time in the first team. If we don't start him soon he won't be available for a while yet when really we need him ASAP.
I think the FA cup is now double edged. On one hand you want a pumped up atmosphere and crowd, to do that you need two full strength teams going for it. On the other hand promotion is key now, and resting players/getting match fit for league is very important I could see: Mannone Dudgeon Cooper Hobbs East Evans (replaced by Oli) Cairney Stewart Brady King (replaced by McClean) Simpson (replaced by Fryatt)
