Here I am sat within a few yards of St Mary's working later than planned. I feel a real temptation to go tonight just to start a few anti Pearson Chants. Does any other exhile work or live very close to another ground and do they ever get tempted?
yep I live within walking distance of Stade de Gerland, home of Olympique Lyon but since we've never even played them it would look daft! Ghilas played here with his previous club and I was half-tempted to cheer him on with "Kamel Ghilas he's one of our own" but thought better of it and spent the €20 down the pub instead..
I went to Wimbledon a couple of times when I was living in South London and did a couple of Watford games when I was living in North London.
I don't live that far from the Galpharm, and work near the Shay. I don't think they'd care if I went and started anti-pearson chants to be honest
I saw Leicester a few years ago while I was studying, they lost to West Brom the year we went up. I smiled.
I chickened out!! Just cant bring myself round to the thought of it. Not the chanting, Southampton! Mind you I am a bit two faced. When the new Wembley opened, I went with my very local team AFCTotton for the FA vase, thinking that at least I could say that I had been, once in a lifetime job. At least I wasn't alone in not being able to name any of the players, 16 thousand to watch a team that got 160 on a good day.
Me and a few of my mates are off to watch a York City game next month or in March, one of those things to do before we graduate!
If anyone is interested there is a live feed on www.eplsite. Don't know if I want a Foxes win or a draw. I would like to see NP suffer a bit more but I also want Saints to get nowt.
I used to live in Ipswich years ago due to work re-location during the later years of the Late Great Sir Bobby Robson. Great footballing team with the dutch due of Franz Thijssen and Arnold Muhren. Great team back in the late 70's early 80's.
My sister works in Southampton and lives in Southsea! She had a city sticker on her back window, another city fan who lives down there posted a note under her wiper one day with contact details to go to watch games live or in the pub! We're a friendly bunch really!
People who have been to games which don't involve City, how did you rate it? I've been once to a Champions league game and I felt bored witless for 90 minutes, couldn't get into it at all. So I vowed from that day to only watch games City were involved in!
That must have been my mate Andy, theres are fair few of us who meet up and go to games etc, the Blackpool match will be pattie and chips washed down with flat beer in a pub where the locals think that we all sound Like Poles.
I went to a Bolton game against Arsenal in our second PL season. They were in a bit of a battle with us so I was secretly hoping they'd lose, and was quietly content that they lost 2-0.
I went down to watch Huddersfield Brentford on Saturday, first time I'd been as a home fan, really enjoyed it, a couple of former Tigers on show, in Alexander, Donaldson and Jon Parkin was on the bench for Town (he's lost some serious weight btw). If you think our atmosphere is bad, try the Galpharm, you couldn't hear the chanting from the halfway line of their "chav corner"!
I went to St James Park a few times, had to be up there once a month with my kids training, so used to go and watch the matches. Great atmosphere, but watching football on your own is not the same as will some mates.
Exactly the same with me, the only games which didn't include City but had some interest were the England games at Wembly. No more tho', too expensive !!!
