Bear with me on this comment as it is not derogatory at all (to Swansea or Wales)

I developed, in the past, a massive hatred for Welsh football fans - all in all because I had only ever experienced the idiots of Cardiff FC - every time they are up here they cause trouble - I believe they could cause an argument in an empty house!! From being a child in the 80's attending matches I have been to Cardiff games and there has been trouble beforehand.

On Saturday I wondered what to expect before the game (not wanting to stereotype the welse football fan). I Went for a beer beforehand and got chatting to a couple of Swansea fans in a normally all Sunderland pub - cracking lads and lovely to speak to. Speak very highly of Rodgers and also had a lot of time to chat about O'Neill as well - compliments completely. The only thing I remember about Cardiff fans in a Sunderland pub is them trying to cause trouble (again steretyping is not the best thing to do)...

As for the game - I thought some of the passing you guys put together was superb but sometimes a little blunt - I think your passing style was your downfall against us - it needed "something different" to break us down as we have a very good defence (one of the best in the league) and it showed on Saturday and our full-backs marshalled your normally excellent wingers really well.

Thanks for a very honest and balanced post Swans - hope to see you in the league for a few seasons (couldn't sazy the same about you Welsh "neighbours" Cardiff though!!)

This is really interesting - Very good thread.

Swansea are a very good side and will do well. My only concern for them is although they had 70% possession, 50% of that was across the back four. This type of play doesn't do anything against anyone and the result speaks for it's self.

For me the best team this season are Norwich. The can play several ways and do. They can play the passing game and do. They can mix it up and do. They can play long balls game, short ball game. They will be a very tough test when they come up in 10 days time. Paul Lambert has worked wonders at that club and will become a very fine manager.

The sun newspaper compared our football to Barcelona !, and Messi would have been proud of Sess's goal, i think that is taken it a bit too far, but the work rate is the best since 2 or 3 seasons ago, and Catts has improved amazingly under Martin. We need a striker and attacking left midfielder or do we have one in Mclean ?, anyway i booked my seat for the Boro match this morning so lets get 46,000 down there, and make it a t v spectacular!.

Yes, I hope you stay up and we see you again too. Swansea's football has been a joy to watch for most of the season. It was a bit boring this week, but I think O'Neill's tactics made it that way. If we'd pressed you in your own half, you'd have released it down the wings and tore us to bits. We sat back and let you keep it in areas where you couldn't hurt us. It was the right tactics for us, but made you look boring. We contributed to that and you didn't deserve the flak you got.

good post mate, you's were very unlucky and deserved something out of the game imo, but that's football, we should have beat Chelsea last week when we created numerous chances, not just half chances, but guilt edge chances and came away with nothing. I would however put my house on Swansea staying up so as it's your 1st season in the prem, it'll be quite a success story, good luck

I liked the way Swansea stuck with their football but i disagree about Swansea deserving something out of the game, i thought we just did a professional job on Swansea. Any way i wish them all the best for the season, hopefully see you next year.
