After the shambolic last quarter of an hour Saturday and with Hess set to drop players, what do you think the team should be? I'm going for, Flitney Lee, Richards, Essam, Martin whelpdale, payne, jackman tomlin, kedwell, kuffour Subs: Gazzaniga, king, montrose, weston, s.payne
Flitney,Fish,Richards,King,Martyn,Whelpdale,Weston,Payne,Tomlin,Kuffour,Kedwell Playing good ol 442 with players in their proper positions so everyone knows whats going on !!!
The most capable 13 players are those who started on Saturday plus Whelpdale and Weston. The least deserving of selection are Whelpdale and Weston who revealed their total disinterest when they came on and were rightly not in the first 11. The worst performers on Saturday were the full backs. The best way to make a statement to the squad is to pick a back four of youngsters possibly Evans, Fish, Davies and Essam and this might be good for the long term but they would just get rolled over especially at Accrington. The most likely team to get a result at Accie would be to select the same starting 11 as last Saturday, they will be suitably humbled, they proved what they are capable of in the first hour (which was possibly the best 60 mins of the season) and they just need to do it for 94 mins in the knowledge that there will be major changes if they don't.
Personally I would love to see Hessy play some of the youth players, such as Davies, Evans and Essam, but I couldn't see him even picking one, it's time too take a risk and play these players who would actually give everything as they have a point to prove, I would also love to see Paulo play in goal on Saturday ( again Unlikely) as Flintlys performance was laughable. The only to midfielders who should play are Jackman and Payne and also Tomlin if he is counted as a Midfielder. I don't see why we don't play king, surely if he is on the bench most games he is good too play right? if he's not. Get rid of him. We have to mix it up now, play the younger lads with a point to prove or bring in loans, the squad should be influenced largely by recent performances. (although if that was the case I don't think we'd be able to field 11 men!! )
It would be interesting to see Gazza and King get some game time but I'm going to have to go with Bristol on this one and say stick with the same lineup. Learn from your errors, any players brought in as replacements won't have the fire under their backside that the comeback loss provided. You can't really fault any of the forwards either, with the three up top we do look like more of a threat.
Flitney Lee Essam Richards Martin (sadly) Tomlin J Payne Montrose Jackman Kedwell Kuffour SUBS Gazzaniga King Whelpdale Weston Oli Just a hunch, but don't think an awful lot will change, and I personally don't think Frampton will be rushed back, and Lawrence won't make it anywhere near the squad.
