No, I made new points in this thread about business stocks and creations. You haven't argued with those, or the other one I made about boundaries being relevant, but not that relevant to the overall picture, as well as the inconsistencies in the arguments.

It's gathering momentum and getting a reaction, so yes. Obviously there's still a long way to go, but overall I'd say it working.

No, because Don Revie never bribed anyone, as established in court. Also because Bates will react to money being taken away from him rather than given to him, unless someone mega-rich offers him a ridiculous amount for the club which isn't going to happen unless they're stupid enough to pay his massively overvalued asking price.

I don't give a **** what the majority of people think. Hey, let's ask everyone in the world whether they give a **** about Hull City?!!?!!>!!!!!R#R#

What a stupid thing to say.

You accuse Cambridge of been biased coming from Hull and then wax lyrically about when you come home to Leeds, Kettle calling Pan black springs to mind. I can honestly say that I have travelled thousands of miles on this planet been to many of the great cities both abroad and in this country and I am always pleased to get home to the best one of them all HULL. 99% of all these reports are written by people who can't be bothered to get off there fat arses behind a desk and actually visit the places they write about. They use data that is years out of date and the television companies just go looking for the worse parts of the area to fan the flames. Yes unemployment is bad and it will remain so whilst Multi national companies like BAE systems are allowed to export jobs, not to the far east by the way to the US. Hopefully Siemens will redress this travasty and if the jobs arrive as predicted look out Leeds your self imposed king of the Yorkshire castle will come crashing round your head.

Revie bribed people, everyone knows that but you. He was challenged by those making the claims to sue and he declined.

Stupidity? Ignoring what the majority think? :cheesy::cheesy:

Look, you came on here with some half arsed argument about a place that you're probably not even from compared to a place you've probably rarely been to. People that are more than used to idiots fishing for a nibble with similar bait have pointed out why your argument's bollocks and your bait stale.

Now run along before you look even dafter than you did last time you tried this nonsense. <badger>

The people making the accusations had already been proved wrong by Billy Bremner.

Afraid not. that's just a myth peddled by the desperate and deluded.

I don't know why you're bothered anyway, that's just the old Leeds that Bates scrapped. The current franchise operating from Elland Rd doesn't really have a real claim on the old clubs history.

I,m not surprised about Hull quite frankly when they have Prescott to represent them I heard his son is one of the biggest landlords in the city no wonder they are not building new homes!

sorry to quote a monster quote , but ive got to agree with most of this.
Its not the people of Hull who are either at fault or to blame , there really has been a lack of worthwile investment in our City since oooh probably the early 70s.

If the city and locale can become a hub for sustainable/renewable energy then that will be a massive long term boost for the whole area.
We have 2 things in abundance in the east riding , water and flat fields to provide long term growth in this newish technology.

Sadly i dont see the government going all out to secure the deals needed theres no wonder it feels like this place is being left to rot.

John Prescott doesn't represent anyone, he announced his resignation nearly five years ago and gave up his seat ahead of the last election.

And his son was investigated for buying 17 houses on the cheap from Hull City Council, only they weren't cheap enough and having bought them, he found they were not viable to renovate and as far as I know the company went into admin.

Humberside is worse for crime than West Yorkshire, but whatever.

That's the point I was making, you imbecile. That we all think our home town is brilliant, even if it isn't. Hence why I said I like even the rough areas of Leeds. But when you expose it to the cold, hard facts, some cities are objectively nicer places than others, and you can measure that by various benchmarks.

    See above.

So what? The report compiles statistics and facts about places, it's not a ****ing Blue Planet city guide which is meant to assess subjective things like culture, how nice the people are and whether it's a pretty place.

If you bothered to read it, you'd see they didn't.

This report isn't done by TV companies, it's done by a think tank using government data.

And it's even worse in some particular cities which seriously need to get their arses into action.

I hope your city does well and Siemens makes Hull prosperous. Shame you want the biggest city in Yorkshire to fail, but that's your prerogative.

So you think football is more about corporate workings than fans? And that MK Dons should by rights own all the achievements of Wimbledon when they have a clear successor club in AFCW? I suggest you're a bit of a cretin in that case. The supporters are the lifeblood of football clubs, and even if there was a minor name change in Leeds United, so what? The club still owns the trophies, UEFA recognizes it as the same club which made those achievements under a very slightly changed name.

*Awaits personal attack or vague anti-Leeds rebuttal by way of response*

How is that a wind-up? Just because I used a slang term doesn't mean I'm trying to offend people. <doh>

Scrounge: Seek to obtain (something, typically food or money) at the expense or through the generosity of others. Hull is therefore the biggest scrounger city in the country because it has the highest benefit claimant (i.e. scrounger) count per capita.

Finally a sensible post acknowledging some realities. Fair play to you, and I hope that your private sector can be what drives your city forward as Leeds' did in the latter stages of the 20th century. <ok>

Well yeah, because he was in Arabia. Billy Bremner then did sue them and won, with them failing to provide a scrap of evidence and some of them admitting they were bribed by newspapers (YES, BRIBED) to lie. Go figure.

Yes, because I think you'll find that the majority of people are often wrong about things. It doesn't take a great amount of logic to realize that many people can simultaneously hold beliefs that are false. Hence religion, for example.

**** off, I'm not fishing, I posted this in good faith to try create a discussion about the economy of Yorkshire (and UK) cities. A couple of posters have joined in and others have tried to derail the thread with anti-Leeds and anti-Leeds-18 bilge.

Now go have a pint of Tetleys Bitter for me, eh? :emoticon-0109-kiss:

That's a good link, it shows the crime rate of the Yorkshire and Humber region is considerably lower than that of West Yorkshire(I'm not sure you looked at the Humberside figure, we've got naff all to do with North Lincolnshire).

You posted a thread on the Hull City message board including the accusation that we're "the biggest scrounger city in the country."

What the **** did you think would happen?

Good faith my arse, pull it off our board and stop being a knob. <ok>
