You don't even need that.3 wins and 3 draws will do you.38 points will be safe this year and Swansea are a good side and nice to watch too.
our away form due to bad team selection could be our downfall, its touch and go on whether we will stay up but the best i can hope for if we dont sort our away form out is...... HOPE.....this is where it gets tough now and you can slip like a stone from here on in....plenty have......
That depends on the teams below you.Quite honestly if I was a Pie Eater or a Wolves fan I think I would see the writing on the wall.
It's quite funny, teams that have a go/have a history of having a go at playing decent football are all full of praise for the Swans, while teams used to physicality and hoofball say our football is "boring and doesn't go anywhere". We don't claim we can beat everyone playing the way we do, but I'd rather watch my team play like we do now than the way a sizeable percentage play, trophies or no trophies!
the only team that will probably go down is wigan and the other two places are anyone, who would have thought blackpool would go down after their better start than us last season........i hope we are not one of those teams but you cant say for definite we wont....nobody can, and if we need points in our last two games then i dont fancy our chances.......
Bang on scotswan as Russell Crowe said in gladiator "are you not entertained "and our support could never say that we are not, even when we lost on Saturday i was satisfied that our squad tried to win by playing entertaining football. We are a small fish in shark infested waters but if we keep moving then the sharks can't pin us down
We won't go down and neither will Norwich who are a good footballing team or QPR who Mark Hughes will turn around. Wigan, Bolton and Wolves will all go down although I'd rather see WBA go down instead of Bolton but unfortunately that won't be the case.
I've got Wigan, Bolton, and Wolves as relegation fodder, though I can't remember, what I had early season, will have to check, know I had Wolves and Wigan, and maybe WBA! Anyway the Swans aren't in there............................. please log in to view this image
I won't start feeling safe until we've got at least 40 points on the board. It'll take a lot of hard work but wouldn't it be nice to get to the 50 mark! Saying that there's every chance that we could be going down at the end of the season so I'm not counting my chickens. We've got the ability to stay up though.
Well said superswan, totally agree with that statement, if we need points by the last two games we are scuppered.
All 3 of the teams promoted have tricky run is. It's up to Norwich & Swansea to ensure they get enough points in the bag before the last month. QPR have it worse. It appears they need to rely more on the next 6 games! If they do not get 9 - 12 points from these game (all against bottom half teams) they could be in serious trouble.
So far this season we have been scoring at 1.2 points per game so if we continue accruing at that rate (which is steady but not spectacular) we end up with 45 points which is plenty good enough. The only worry is that we go on a slide for some reason. Wigan, currently bottom, have been scoring at 0.7 points per game so far, and if we did the same from now to the end of the season we would have 37 points which might still be enough.
Board Issues - Highly unlikely Finances - Not a problem, all under control, looking healthy Transfers - Howson, maybe 1 more (boosts squad confidence and improves competition) Manager - Potentially could be poached but why leave a successful club where you are worshipped as a demi-god? Goalkeeper - Potentially an issue if Ruddy is injured in next 2 months, with only Steer as replacement Defence - not a problem, all fit bar Ward who is on the verge, take you pick at will and all playing brilliantly, will be inspired by the clean sheet if anything Midfield - not a problem, all fit, take your pick, plenty of scope for different tactics (wingers, defensive midfielders, playmakers, more traditional left and right) Forwards - still scoring goals, Vaughan about to come back, not a problem Fans - loving this phase of our glorious 3 years, positive sentiment all round Transfers out - only pilkington can be accused of dropping performance on the back of speculation, why would any of the 1st XI move to become a sub elsewhere? --- In Summary then, only Lambert being poached and Injury to Ruddy, are key concerns
I'm saying 'we' as a Swansea fan, not a Norwich fan Just been checking out Blackpool's fall from grace last season. After 20 games they had 28points (1.4 points per game). They finished on 39 points, so they got another 11 points from the last 18 games (0.6 points per game). It can happen! Oh, and congratulations on getting your first clean sheet of the season. I guess it just shows they are not a pre-requisite for doing well.
Both Norwich and Swansea are playing more realistic football than Blackpool. Blackpool were great - they gave it a real go. But they were far too open at the back to survive in the long run.
Here you are literally saying that you believe you could pick the team better than Brendan Rodgers. Please get real. Our last two away performances have been outstanding, we deserved a point at Sunderland. Making ridiculous statements on how we will fare is one thing, claiming to be able to pick the first choice XII better than the manager is another.
That's being very results oriented. I guess your one of the guys who used to shout 'hoof it' every time we got into trouble in our own half but now embraces the way we play because it's starting to yield results. People on here can argue all they want but no one (myself included) will have more of a clue about team selection, tactics etc than those being paid to do it at the club so stop acting like it
