LEE COOK has returned to Queens Park Rangers following the end of his two-month loan spell with the O's.

The 29-year-old winger played nine matches in O's colours, netting the winner in the 1-0 victory at Stevenage at the start of January.

He arrived at Brisbane Road at the end of November after Dean Cox suffered a knee injury and enjoyed a successful stint in E10, also providing the assist for David Mooney's goal in a 1-1 draw against Chesterfield.

Former Fulham man Cook will now try to find a place in Mark Hughes' 25-man squad for the second half of QPR's Barclays Premier League campaign.

O's boss Russell Slade said: "Cooky missed Saturday's game with a little injury and he's now trying to force his way into the QPR squad.

"He had a great little loan spell with us so we were delighted with that."

So, is there hope for one of our favourites under Sparky? Akos has made it, and if that didn't lift our spirit then try and imagine what it would be like if Cooky forced his way into the team!

    Come on Cooky !

    Thoughts?

Sounds as if he did well - the O's aren't saying they'd like to roll over the loan or buy, but maybe that's because Cooky has make his ambitions at QPR plain.

I'd love him to come good. How hard it will be for him depends obviously on his form, and the signings we make in the next 9 days.

I'll be very surprised! Far more so than with Buz who has been in the Squad, and had some playing time.

Just to play devil's advocate here, at 29 he's the same age as Buzz. They've both been hindered by bad injuries. And both are coming out the other side. I agree the odds are strongly against him getting into the squad but MH will give him a chance and stranger things have happened...

Not a snowball's chance in Hades! Sparky has brought back a number of players, probably to see what our loanees have to offer the squad before deciding on any changes. Ramage and Ephraim both back but like Cooky I don't see a future for them in the team. Had it not been for the injury to Faurlin I don't think Buzz would have been given his chance recently either.

I am not sure if Buzz is up to it in the Prem but it was great to see him back to his old form against Wigan. Free kick, top corner, BOSH!!!!!

I'd posted previosly that we had some win-able games coming up (FA cup not included!) and 3 pts from Wigan shouldn't be all we get before the end of February, I reckon there are another 8-10 to be had against Villa, Wolves, Blackburn and Fulham.

If some of our fringe players are not loaned out or sold before the window closes it doesn't take a crystal ball to see a whole host of departures in the summer.

There will be a massive clearout this summer. We have about 20 fringe players !!!
