Thanks PN...I might just try and get to that :)

I had a wonderful day out at Newmarket about 10 years ago...I just fancied going.

It was amazing, horses and jockeys everywhere!

I visited the National Stud and had a fantastic tour round, it's so vast we had to go round by coach.

Then I went to the racing museum, they had the painting there of Whistlejacket, it was huge!

Before that I went and sat on the gallops to watch the horses being worked.....was hoping I might recognise a few of them.... I hadn't thought that without the silks I would be completey clueless

It was such a wonderful day out, I thought I was going to die of excitement, and I'm not even into the Flat racing.

Would really, really, love to visit Lambourn, on their open day. I've never been... tho 'I think I might keel over!

I've been to Jackdaws, when David Nicholson was there, he used to have really good open days

Would love to come down for it but its a bit far for me and I'd had to take time off work. I'm already using holidays to go to the Olympics (as a volunteer gamesmaker) and a trip to see the relations in Australia over Christmas...

Does anyone know what horses will be on show? A list of the best ones would be nice.

Way to go Jana. A fantastic way to see the best athletes on the planet going what only they can do. The games just can't be held without the likes of good people like you and the other volunteers. <applause>

Cyc I'm going to be a PA/driver type of volunteer and based at Park Lane (no accommodation there though). Apparently i've ben assigned to the IOC, so I'm not expecting to see much of the action in person. It will be a great experience though.

No list released of the yards that will be taking part as yet.

I believe many of the NH trainers still hold Open Days, mainly at the start of the season. I don't know where you ouwld find a list of the upcoming days, but I'd have thought they would be advertised in the Racing Post.
