When was last time we scored 2 goals from outside the box? and how about 2 in the same game?
Is it a possibility that the boys are starting to grow in confidence, looks like MH and the back room staff are starting to have an effect.
I know its only a couple of games but all those threads that were having a pop at TF seemed to have subsided! hope all are now behind TF and the team.
    U Rrrrrr'sssssssss

Two fantastic strikes ( and wigans was a great goal also ). Got to say we did seem to have a bit more belief about us and the two league games we have had with MH we have had more shots than probably in the previous 5/6 games.

One of them should have been an easy save, but the other was a belter.

Two things Ive noticed is that our confidence to shoot is now there, even HH had a 25 yarder in the opening seconds on his wrong foot. we now believe we can score from anywhere, especially with volleys.

The other thing are set pieces, from being worse than a pub team (and I mean that literally), we now look capable of scoring every time we get a corner or FK.

I imagine a smart manager would have told them to shoot on site, especially in the first half when the wind was with us which is why we saw loads of attempts, having said that Buz has always liked to have a dig from outside the box.

Spot on Flyer <ok> And everyone seem to forget HH outrageous volley attempt from an acute angel that flew inches wide and had Al Habsi roted to the spot. That and Akos' volley attempt that drew a great save from the Wigan goalie!
Makes for a damn better viewing than three-four attempts a game.

Its like the players IQ have suddenly shot up and they know when to shoot. Volleys are always much harder to stop as they dip as well. Looks like Hughes has told them to have a go if its sitting up, after all, he did quite well with volleys in his career.

18 attempts on Saturday, 9 on target.
Amazing what someone who's played at the highest level can do.
Sometimes it just needs a word or two in the ear.
You fire loads of bullets, one of them's going to hit.
    ( Unless your in the A-Team )

Best game at LR all season.

Under Warnock we had the worst shots on target ratio and the worst shots to goals ratio in the league. Its great that its improved especially when so many of them were long shots that were dangerous too.

The players are trying to prove to MH they are worth keeping hence the reason why they will try anything to keep their place. That said, I would have though that the scouting team would have flagged up whether the keeper catches or punches the ball maybe leaving follow up chances.
