Interesting stuff….. always get a bit hot under the collar though when the tyne and Wear tag is used though.
I'm Sure its some cockney ****ers idea of a joke.

Can’t we start a campaign or something to drop the tyne?

If as the title of this post suggests and we are the hotbed for producing premier league players, then by the same token we must have had the worst talent spotters, otherwise how come they were never attached to any of the northeast clubs. and plied their trade at other clubs up and down the country. A very sad indictment wouldnt you say.

I take your point sanddancer but not fully sure i agree, there are many reasons why people (including footballers) leave their home town

I wonder how much better Durham would fare if we got rid of all this Tyne and Wear rubbish and went back to Durham and Northumberland? South of the Tyne Durham, north of Northumberland.

I wish we could get rid of Cleveland as a county as well. Let's go back to the old boundaries i.e. North of the River Tees County Durham, south of the river Yorkshire.

'Who is the biggest club now'?

Sure I've answered this before Tyrtle !
If it depends on current league standings then yes you are bigger (by 2 points).
    BUT...if it depends on...
    Time inPremier League
    Top 10 finishes
    Top 5 finishes
    European campaigns
    Average attendances
% Stadium filled week in week out......

Then I'm afraid there is only one answer.

But credit where credits due, you are now starting to look like establishing yourself under Agent Bruce.

    Toon fan in peace.

As a Durham lad, I am pleased when a lad from our county makes it in football.

It doesnt matter who he plays for, its just good to see the talent out there making it.
