In all honesty i would like both Goals and passes. It just doesnt work all that well in the PL, Europe it does as you have to try to slow the game down, and Barca are excellent at it, but they have a very real and potent attacking threat to go with it and it seems about 10 gears to go through.
Exactly surely if you only play 5 yard passes your putting yourself at a disadvantage by not using all the other options available to you.
Its about excitement and that comes in many forms. Yesterday we saw one team that wanted to retain the ball and attack against a team happy to defend and hit on the break. To many that may have been boring but it had me glued to my seat and paying attention.
Barcelona do pass but they also are a bit of a dirty team when they don't have the ball always pressing and kicking at the heels of the other team.
I really hope Swansea send missionaries to us to teach us thing new game called 'football' and the 'art of losing beautifully' as me no um understand this strange and magical thing they do.
I've given up trying to discuss the game with Swans fans... most of the ones bitching the most were not at the match as they were on here faster than I was and only live 20 mins away from the ground! All they're doing is looking at the possession stat and believing it shows domination (conveniently failing to observe that most of the game was played in their own half). I know it's very irritating but it's pointless expecting respect from folks who are so one-eyed as to use terms like 'thugs', 'bullies' and 'cloggers' about a game with very little physicality about it. Even though it's just a small handful of arrogant Swans fans it sort of makes it hard to like the team.
But its not just the swansea fans its every pundit, they have decided to give credit only to teams who pass 5 yards all day. they pass the ball in there own box when the other team is pressing thats not beautifull its stupid i never want to see my team doing that even if we had messi.
I was trying to discuss this with the sheep shaggers but was getting nowhere, to keep the bairns happy you are happy to have them play with pan and wooden spoon, cos they are not harming anybody.
